I was in a newsagent's earlier and they had 9 or 10 different magazines and did not have a clue what to get. Can any of you guys recommend a good mag to subscribe to for a beginner/novice photographer?
I subscribe to this one

It has some good tutorials & reviews etc - mainly for canon users though!![]()
Then when they run out of topics, it's "how to bend the law to shoot Urbex!"![]()
Thanks guys. I know there are countless resources online but i like to have a physical book/magazine in my hand! Are there anyone's specifically for nikon users?

I tried this one http://www.digitalslr.magazine.co.uk/homepage I was quite good. I did the 5 issues for £5 and it all worked out ok, no extra charges or anything. Give it a go for £5.
Its only for Canon users ........... ive just unsubscribed from this one as like all other magazines, it just loops topics. No doubt soon you will see a "Take great pictures in autumn" feature. Same as last year lol

I'm only starting out but lanscape and wildlife photography is something i would like to concentrate on when i get to grips with my camera. This place is fantastic, i have spent hours reading through tuorials and critique threads and getting tried and tested advice is priceless.
If you're looking for books as well, and you want some Nikon specific info, pick up "The Hot Shoe Diaries" by Joe McNally.
It all really depends what style of photography you want to shoot though. Landscapes, wildlife, people, etc?

Then when they run out of topics, it's "how to bend the law to shoot Urbex!" or "Start a fight with the cops by showing them you know more about the law than they do!"![]()
I have not decided if I go Canon or Nikon . the only two worth considering in my opinion ...
