Prove me wrong then Steve.
DO something rather than bleat.
Something other than cowering in your train seat.

Huh. When you said you do the same thing - you wouldn't intercede. I really do not understand your comments here Ruth at all.

I recall a completely different thread where you bleated about me trying to sort out the pigeon feeding issue, you bleat and whinge about the sentences given to speeding drivers/drink drivers who cause deaths, bull fighting - is that not another one of your favorite whinges. What are you do other than pontificating your own brand of indignation about these topics on the web?

Yes Steve. ..I said I might not intercede.
But I also said I wouldn't spend my time bemoaning such behaviour here, which you do...albeit disarmingly. ..constantly.

Your opinion on feeding birds ia laughable.
You complain about speeders. ...you are one.
Find a post where I am profoundly anti bullfighting.

My point is such that freely available cheap alcohol creates such situations, and they are not pleasant for innocent bystanders. Funnily enough, during the day when these sorts tend to be sober, you just don't get these vile incidents.

so the cheap alcohol is only available during the hours of darkness then ?

Rather than troll away ,you really ought to think about what you write.

All these threads that end up like this are getting ridiculously boring!

Just saying!

Why is it laughable, to you it is. To me it's a nuisance and a problem. I am no longer a speeder and will reform my ways when I get my licence back. Please don't tell me you've never sped, that would be hysterical.

I raised the topic as an awareness to stay safe. I think alcohol is a problem, and a lot of people drink too much of it. It's a problem. You find my threads annoying clearly, yet without fail post away on them; why is that?

Have you been in that situation ?
None of us know exactly how we will react until it happens,

many times- I worked in urban parks for over ten years first in basildon then in milton keynes - in those jobs I'd be dealing with big groups of agressive halfwits on a regular , sometimes almost daily basis, and also stepped into situations where some one was getting hassled, picked on or sometimes assaulted more times than I like to think about. I've been punched, kicked, beaten up a few times, and threatened with knives, bats, knuckle dusters, and on one occasion chased through a wood while be being shot at by badger baiters

so excuse me if I do know how i'd react in the sort of situation Steve is describing

Maybe as you're isolated in a national park you don't really get into a city much, but later at night tends to be the trouble zone. HTH.

see my reply to ingrid Steve, I know exactly what urban areas are like , and I agree that alcohol can sometimes be a fuel of stupid behaviour - however experience both in my proffesional life and as the son of an alcoholic father tells me that a drunken f***wit is generally also a f***wit when sober... which is why they drink to excess in the first place. So alcohol may exacerbate things but were it not available your train load of drunken loutish f***wits would be a trainload of sober loutish f***wits.

Wanting booze rationed also suggests you havent understood what the concept of prohibition brings about

Looking on the bright side though, you get less pigeons in the city at night.

this is true , but theres foxes , and they are like dogs....

Again if you can bw arsed...you'll see no posts claiming I've never broken the speed limit.

As for you being reformed. ..sadly I suppose we'll see eventually.

Why is it sad that I will drive a car again? You're not seriously suggesting life time bans for driving fast on a quiet road. Surely, thats hysterical. Even the hardline French don't do that.

yeah just think if we werent having this argument we could be doing something really worthwhile like trading banalities about staying in bed

Good for you, but taking public transport extensively around the UK (you do that when disqual) you soon realise what is safe zones and what isn't. Football events, forget it, brings out the worst in people and the worst sorts to do the worst things. Not saying all football fans are like that, but football events bring out the sort of chaos. Foolishly I made plans to travel when some Manchester club was playing. Now not all these people will be scumbags, the odd one will be, but the alcohol brings out the inner scumbag. Day in, day out, these people will have jobs, families, houses, cars etc. They'll be fine but a day on the booze, and this is what you see.

Head into Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle during the day, these places are fine. At night, the atmosphere changes and violence, loutishness becomes a very real problem. Take the booze away, it will become like the day.

Probition was unmanagable, but the idea was a sound one. No alcohol works well in Muslim countries. Here because its deemed social and cultural accepted, taking it away would cause an uproar. It cannot be done, but stricter laws, higher pricing, harder penalties for drunken and disordetly crimes, harder punishments and enforcement of serving already intoxicated people would go a long way to solving the issues we do see.

Not really an argument it's who can give the best insults to Steve

Well Steve, my opinions on driving bans are that they shoud be incremental. ..and at the speed you were convicted, you'd be right up there.
But let's go back to your presenting examples of matters such as my out and out opinions on bullfighting.

But its a lot more comfortable and safer than apparently being chased by knuckle dragging badger baiter's, (that can't shoot straight)
or being beaten up trying to save someone else.

And with that we are done this has gone way off topic.
