We don't have television, and I doubt if we will buy one because there's nothing I really want to watch, and I don't have time anyway. I have various interests, and I read a lot.
OTOH, I can understand why you need a licence to watch state television (BBC), but why do you have to get one to watch puerile advertising - interrupted by programmes - on ITV?
