Not sure if this should go in here, or in the discussion area, as it's a bit of a discussion I suppose?...possibly answered my own question there.
Anyway, battery grips. I'm looking at getting one in the near future, possibly after a flashgun, possibly before one, i've not decided yet.....
So, as I normally do, I started having a read about battery grips etc and generally getting a good idea of how they function, benifits etc ( I knew the basics).
I'll be getting the BG-E2N for the 40D, as i'm sure you're all aware of the models etc.
I know a battery grip isn't there to look pritty, and that it's their to do a job, but I cant help but be niggled at by the way it fits to the 40D. I noticed the grip just cuts off on the left hand side of the camera (looking at it from the rear) to follow the line of the side of the camera, which leaves you with a rather noticeable triangular gap on the side.
Please tell me someone else has spotted this, and wondered why they didn't make it fit a bit more snug?
I never thought i'd say this, being a 'Canon-till-i-die' sort of person, but the grip for the Nikon D300 that I randomly looked at is FAR better in terms of fitting the camera. It kinda bows, and arcs up at either side so that the corners of the camera sit snugly in it, which makes it look a lot neater.
Urgh, I feel dirty now...
