Having browsed the Retro Photo Supplies site, I also fancied trying Fomapan, and T-Max 100..... ordered yesterday afternoon, delivered this morning, so they get a big thumbs up from me for their speedy delivery....

Nick Brandt's "Across the Ravaged Land" is on Amazon for £24.80 with free delivery (RRP is £40). My copy arrived this morning and I think its good value for £40 but at £25 its a steal!

I bought it because I missed his recent exhibition at the Atlas gallery and now I am really kicking myself for missing it.

If you are interested in portraiture, I reckon an SQ-A is probably a better camera.

(completely IMO)

I used to have an RB67 and regret selling it, so I am tempted. But I might go for an SQ instead.

Steve.

There is another on for 130 might need a new back, someone buy it before I decide I need a spare!

No need for the sad face, the SQ-A is a very capable camera. Enjoy!

The sad face was more for the fact that I cant justify buying the RB67 as well, not because I bought a SQ-A:)

I'm not so sure about portraiture with the SQ, I'll probably use it more for general shots and landscapes, the couple of rolls of 6x6 I ran through the Solida convinced me to get a better quality 6x6.

When I had decided to get my PENTAX 6X7 outfit in 1980 I ordered the 75mm f4.5 lens with it as well as the 105 and 200mm and extension tube set -- when it came I found some poor young Storekeeper who didn't know the difference had picked the very expensive 'SHIFT' lens instead of the much cheaper 75mm f4.5-- so I got the Shift lens for £175- 00 --- I gave it a 'Good Home' and USED it a lot for Architectural Photos.
Here it is on the later 6x7 Mk II

Well Andy I don't know what the catch is as I haven't installed it, but how can you run a business giving your stuff away for free  Anyway if the offer is suddenly withdrawn I can you send you a CD with the program and with, I believe, is the serial number.

Going for free:-
http://www.ononesoftware.com/landing/pe8offer/
Downloaded ok but haven't opened and tried it yet on my win 7, 64 computer. Presets for lightroom are free as well...erm but haven't got lightroom.

It seems to require win7 64 bit as a minimum, I registered and downloaded (and received a serial by email) but can't test it due to the minimum requirement that popped up when I went to install.

Well win 7, 32bit can only use 4gb of ram.....8gb is more useful for other programs as well e.g. Photoshop, and esp with the operating system etc taking their share.

PhotoShop runs with adequate performance on 32bit. So that's not relevant.

This program will load on Win7 64bit core2duo system with 1GB of RAM, but not on an i5 Win7 32bit with 4GB RAM.

Its a stupidly designed restriction.

The program will also crash in Windows 8 running 4Gb of ram. :( Some have reported it will work with 4Gb, but in my case it took the OS down.

From the Photoshop site they say:- http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-performance-photoshop-cs4-cs5.html i.e. as much ram as you can give it.

And for some reason the free program want you to use 64bits...and I would guess they also want as much ram as you can give it. And if anyone was serious about graphics design they would have the best computer they could afford with plenty of ram.

Which is a lovely notion, but "have the best computer...with plenty of ram" isn't the system requirement for PS (hell, I've run it on a netbook).

The company above should learn to be clearer with regard to their minimum requirements (especially when it's an arbitrary restriction imposed in a illogical way). If they want 8GB ram, then say so. Don't say it needs "a newer OS than Win7 64" especially when a newer OS (win 8) doesn't actually work either.

It's a pointless debate, it isn't your fault that the developer has idiotic restrictions.

Now I do agree with you regarding why they require 8GB though... Photoshop CC only requires 1GB and that has some pretty complicated effects. It'll run horribly though!

Well I have:- a quad core @4.4ghz with 8 megs of fast ram and my second computer is 2 core @ 2.9ghz with 4 megs and I know what computer I prefer. Anyway for film user someone said "it's great for downsizing".

Thanks, I missed that tiny print when I read the page. I probably need new glasses for that size print ;).

I have installed this morning, had a quick go and it looks very interesting indeed.

Well installed the program on win 7, 64bits, 8 megs of ram and it's quite interesting in that you bring your scanned image up, and there are umpteen ways of changing it with a click.....had to smile though when you can add a light leak :)....Well so far seems easy to use, but I'm not doing anything complicated.

Remember chums a 32 bit operating system only supports up to 4gb anyway, owt else cannot be adddressed :-)

I got 2 brownie 127's and a beaten up yashica mf2 and three rolls of expired 127 film for £15 yesterday.. Lol
