Bargains Thread

At the risk of falling foul of the the mods can have 3rd dibs on everything please as I don't have quite enough cameras in my collection.

B**ger off :boxer:..........The Oly is mine :love::D

We should probably wait and see if Chris can get to the shop and if its still there before we divide the spoils! :)

WoW I'd get that if I was at my usual haunt of a boot sale.

Glad someone picked it up, it was driving me mad! "Shall I ride for an hour in the rain.... or stay warm on the sofa..... but it's so CHEAP....??!!" :P

Charlotte, I'm sending it off today for a CLA. The zoom it came with (35-70 f3.6) also needs work. Very stiff to zoom and focus. Reputed to be a very good lens though.

That was an amazing bargain, hopefully see some images from it once it's all sorted

This could be a bargain as I bet it won't go for anywhere near as much if split into smaller lots. 206 rolls of film would last a pretty long time.

A really interesting mix, but that's a lot of expired film without mention of any specific expiry dates... and no mention of cold storage either. That Ektachrome is E6, and expired pro E6 stored at room temperature is going to deteriorate rather quickly unfortunately. Might be worth a punt though!

n.b. they had one auction of Ektachrome, almost certainly from the same batch with an expiry date of 11/2007

Has anyone used Retro Photo Supplies (They used to be Photo Supplies UK)? They have Fomapan in 120 at £2.99 a roll, seems to be a good price but I wanted to check if they were legit before I pull the trigger.

I contacted them a long time back asking about 828 film which was out of stock and, still is, it would seem! ....................I never received a response!

This doesn't mean in any way that they are "dodgy" and admittedly I didn't chase them up...... for me if they couldn't be bothered with a response then i couldn't be bothered progressing further with a potential purchase.

Just to confirm that it is this site:

Thanks David and Asha, I'll give it a little longer to see if anyone else has used them.

Andy

Yes, I've bought rolls of 620 and 127 from him in the past, he's legit. I received a mailout about the name change a few weeks ago.

Andy, based upon your post I took a punt and ordered 5 rolls of 120 Fomapan 100 from Retro on Monday night. all arrived here today! Quicker than two orders to other film suppliers from last Friday jthat are still to arrive! I'll be using them again.

Cool, thanks for that Adrian, I'll get a few ordered later.

If anyone's looking to get into medium format, LCE have a pretty good deal on an SQ-A set-up:

http://www.lcegroup.co.uk/Used/Bronica-SQA-Kit_82824.html

Along with the SQ-A body, the kit includes two backs, metered prism finder, waist level finder, 80mm f/2.8 lens, 150 f/3.5 lens, pro shade, and speed grip for £379

OH WOW !!!

That looks like a lot of kit for the money.

My wife would actually chop me up if I arrived home with that.

and @PMN would never be able to carry that in his rucksack and all his own gear :-)

Just in case anyone didn't get the email from calumet; they've got free delivery over the weekend and they're quite competitive for Ilford films so might be worth it if you don't like to keep too much of one type of film around.

Calumet are also quite competitive for Kodak film and they have some reasonably priced Fuji slide film! Good spot.

They're also pretty competitive for the Fuji Pro films (160NS and 400H). In my case, they're especially convenient as their Glasgow store is just down the street from me, so I don't need to pay any shipping costs. :)
