How do I get myself into these things
A workmate of my husband wants to hire me to take pics at her Ruby Wedding party. She and her hubby are heavily into ballroom dancing and this will be a big part of their "do".
They had quotes from pro togs for about £900 but as Im taking on gigs for free as Im learning, they are very interested in using me instead (just paying expenses and for the photos they want). Of course there will be the usual disclaimer about me NOT being a pro and they may end up with very few usable pics etc etc.
She still seemed keen after this, but I must admit to wondering whether this is something out of my league. She does want a set of static portraits, but its the "on the dancefloor" ones that worry me :bonk:.
What sort of lens would be recommended for this kind of thing? Is it as hard as it sounds to shoot (i.e fast moving objects - well, as fast as elderly folk can Waltz I guess - in low light, with shiny clothes as well probably)???
If I dont think I can do the job, I wont take it on - any comments or tips from anyone??
