Yes
1,800 miles,
60 hours of driving
240 litres of fuel
1 ferry ticket from Uig to Loch Maddaigh
2 bottles of scotch
6 bottles of assorted wine
14 french sticks
1 1/2 lbs of cheese (coloured ;) )
6 Tics
1.5 million dead midges
1 blood test for lymes disease
7 days of Variouis weathers
2 Arguements
3 sulks (mine)
2 Books
Nearly flooded out of my campsite once

Absolutley bloody brilliant holiday.

Nice to be back and sleeping on my own bed though. Just starting to go through my shots now. Weather was very changeable, especially on the western Isles, but then it always is and I wouldn't want it any other way. At least we had one day of pure sunshine on Skye.

Even the BMW didn't let me down, now has 172,000 on the clock. (we wont talk about waking up in the morning and having a flat battery, no mobile phone signal and at least 10 miles from any civilisation. Or spending a whole day previously running the radio and charging things up with a power inverter, forgetting that car batteries aren't infinite!)

I shall look forward to spamming up the landscape forum!

Can't wait to see!

Next time do it by motor cycle:D

Awww....jealous jealous jealous jealous JEALOUS!!!!!!

Glad you had a good time!

I only managed 1718 miles
3 islands, 5 ferry crossings
Too much food from hotel breakfasts and dinners ;)
Virtually no midges
Half an argument and half a sulk (not me)
lost guide book after 3 days
Car says it averaged 49.7 miles to the gallon of diesel so you can work out the litres bought if you like :)
And weather was varied but always managed to be dull at the good locations... which was a downer after a week so we came home a day or two early.
About 1000 raws to look at starting tomorrow when I'm more awake.

sorry to hear you didn't have much luck with the weather. I must admit, we only had one day of pure sunshine, the rest was just alternating between showers and overcast with glimpses of sun in between.

The BMW managed a healthy 34 to the gallon. But I put that down to the fact that I crawled up at a steady 70mph and then didn't generaly go above 40 most of the time I was in scotland.

I only came back with about 500 raws. I was pretty good about deleting the obvious duff stuff off the card before I dropped it into the image tank every night. Still haven't got that many keepers though. If I can find 2 or 3 for each day I was there then I'll consider it a success!

Was a good holiday for spotting wildlife though.....

we saw....

1 pine marten
several deer
numerous birds of prey (buzzards, something larger(eagle?) )
1 brown owl
2 larger scarier owls
tics
lapwings
seals

only the deer and seals did I have the camera out for!

it was a return ticket  :cuckoo:

Well, you did not stipulate it as such...

And here I thought you had one of those James Bond style submarine Lotus cars...

Sounds like a great trip, and pretty typical weather in Scotland - You don't like the weather hang around for 20 mins it'll change :D

Look forward to seeing the images now.
