Arundel Film Meet 18th October

Should really be the Current Beautiful and Most Kind Mrs Snap, seeing as what she let's you get away with!

Appreciate the heads up :)

BTW, does CMS have a convenient alternative meaning...?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Content_management_system

It meant "Conversational Monitor System" in my IBM days...

My approach to Arundel would be via the closed road if Crossbush means the area of the Littlehampton turn off from the A27 just east of Arundel. Fontwell is well over on the west side of Arundel, so this could mean that Arundel isn't accessible from the A27. I'm trying to find where the info is.

Stephen, this came from the Premier Inn website.

I'm wondering does my plane not fly over Arundel on it's approach to Gatwick??.....i could parachute down and save a train journey :)

Having looked at the map, it seems that the main east-west road through Arundel is going to be closed - and that's the road that passes the railway station and that you walk along to get into the town. Instead of a 45 minute drive, it now seems to be twice the distance on slow roads - assuming I can work out a route. As all the roads in cross the A27 (by roundabout) the only way I can see that looks "safe" is to go north then drive south via Amberley. Still, that can be a better route than the direct way since it avoids the holdups at Worthing and just outside Arundel.

I'll see if we can make it nearer the time.

A request to those who have cars.......I'll be coming down direct from Gatwick by train. Hoping to arrive in Arundel a bit after midday on the saturday if all goes OK with transport.

Travelling light with just a flight case containing some kit and a change of clothes so that i don't stink Nick's ( @ Raglansurf ) place out during the weekend lol

I'm hoping some kind gent will offer to store my belongings in the boot of their car for day .....if not I' ll have no option but to use Nick as a sherpa and bungie the case to his back! Lol

I see... Soz, me being a bit thick just there. :D

If I take my Mamiya with me, will someone be up for a challenge and try to fix it for me ?? :)
Some vinyl covers screws. ..not sure how to peel it off :)
And no, won't break your arms for damaging it ;)

With regard to the A27 road closure, I think you will find that they are overnight lane closures between 8:00pm and 6:00am - the Sussex Police traffic management team (who I work closely with) would be having kittens at the thought of the A27 being closed for five days! I could be wrong - will ask at work tomorrow but I am sure I would have heard of something like a full closure as it affects the work I do.

Thanks for the update Brian, much appreciated.

Further to my earlier post - just been confirmed by my Police colleagues that it is overnight closures for resurfacing work.

Excellent, thanks for the confirmation Brian.

Thought this was next weekend?

Indeed the 18th but the BBC weather forecast is deadly accurate for the future cough...oh wait it's changed from no rain to maybe a shower.

I really hope the weather is reasonable, or at least dry as i intend to shoot quite a lot ( not obvious from the list is it?? :p:D:D, not just at Arundel, but also in London centre on the sunday with Nick, @ Raglansurf who is going to be my guide ( not that he knows it yet!:D) ...I'm going to be one of those "tourists" snapping away at anything and everything:ROFLMAO:

I shall be taking a Nikon FG with an AIs 28mm f2.8 attached and one roll of Tri-x, that should leave plenty of room in the camera bag for the visit to Arundel Photograhic :D

I'll be taking:

Mamiya RB67
If it gets here in time, Mamiya 645AFD. If not probably my 5D
Whatever film I have lying around, likely to be PanF and Portra

I'm thinking just the F100 and 24-85mm lens. Keep it simple, that's my motto.
