I bought a dell xps 10 from argos the other day, got it home and no UK plug in the box to plug into the transformer.
So off i pop back to argos to see what they could do.
It was the last one in stock so the manager could not check, so the she said to me it doesnt come supplied with a UK plug, just a 3 pin european effort as dell dont supply the UK plug and if i wanted i could buy an adapter.
The box had previously been opened and resealed with an argos checked seal sticker across the opening, usually done on returned items.
I told her it is illegal to sell an electrical appliance with out a plug that meets uk standards or an adapter for said plug bs1363and whom ever had checked the item, which i presumed to be a returned item, due to the sticker had not checked it properly.
She said no it isnt and take the advice or not but im not getting a refund
The item was not on the 30 day return policy and as she thought it was not defective i had no case for warranty return.
I dug my heals in and told her in no uncertain terms she is wrong, eventually i got a refund.
Argos used to be superb for customer service, is this a one off or have others had any bad experiences with them?
Or any other suppliers you might want to mention.....
