Yes
40 today - where does the time go.

I can't even afford a sad sporty car :bonk:

Does life begin now ????

Oh GOD YES!!! :whistling:

Happy birthday mate, and apart from the body starting to fall apart, nothing much changes just because that dreaded 4 has appeared in front of your age ;)

Brace yourself Phil. You'll find time starting to accelerate very rapidly from now on. My 53rd year has taken about six weeks. :shake:

Many happy returns.

Happy Birthday Phil hope you had a good one

Cheers guys

Falling out, falling off, falling apart, accelerating - that's one thing.

This talk of drooping has me concerned :suspect:

I found myself in this very same boat yesterday.
I too am still waiting for my flash sports car.

Happy birthday!

..... It doesn't really....... It gets worse, goes downhill fast! It's just that the brain doesn't register things as quickly as it used to.... so it just feels better ;)

Yes, things start to happen at 40... your hair emigrates to your ears and nostrils, your upper body definition slumps and gathers around your waist and you begin to realise that you might need swimming trunks in the bath to stop yourself looking down on the unemployed...

Other than that, it's great. Life begins at 40. Just don't tell Yoko Ono that...! :exit:

Happy Birthday!

Thanks for all the reassurances.

Chris (I value your opinion following the recent Whitesnake conversation)

With 3 kids off school today (fingers crossed for tomorrow) and a screaming baby - I'll let you know how life begins......

Hope the kids settle, Phil!

If they don't, then play them this as a belated birthday pressie to yourself, but play it LOUD... ;) (It's the whole damn gig!)

Happy Birthday Phil  So long as you have enough in you to blow the candles out then count yourself lucky :D

Happy burpday, Phil. :shake: . . . I mean . . .

And feel free to slap anyone who says things like "Ooooh, the BIG 4-0, eh?" and "Life begins at 40" (no, it began the moment I was conceived). :D ;)

Happy Birthday matey

5 years to go before I reach 40
Don't it fly by eh.............

Happy birthday :)

I didn't like turning 40 one bit (and still don't, two years on). I do have the mid-engined, flat six, convertible sports car though, but that was a 35th birthday / "finally untangled the financial ties to the ex" present to myself, so I had no excuse to buy another on my 40th

40 is OK, but the best is still a few years away.................

40's are fantastic, kids grown up, money is my own, looking for the car .. I love it :)

you're 40?

Wow, I assumed with your demonstrations of not knowing anything about football put you at about 17 :D:D

Cheers folks

Wish I was 17 years old Joe - I'd have never seen Liverpool win the league
