No
looking at the news about crops wilting in the field ,lack of water etc are vegans soon going to have to eat MEAT .

From what I've seen of things, most vegans seem to live on diet of almost exclusively imported fruit and veg.

Fortunately the production of meat doesn’t require water or crops so well be ok in the heat with our meat.

Actually, it requires both.

Yeah what do the cows pigs and sheep eat? It’s not Subway

Absolutely mega quantities of fruit and veg goes to waste and rots before it gets sold currently in the UK.

I know a wholesaler and he buys full pallets and tries to sell surplus very cheap as it starts to go bad but its hard to shift 20KG boxes of one thing.

I can get oranges for about £6 for 15KG, the wholesaler gets it much cheaper than that and supermarkets get it much cheaper than him.

My sister in law is on a plant based diet and dumpster dives for food all the time ! I’ve been with her before now! Good fun

Local food banks and homeless shelters should be able to make use of large quantities.

I know mate my original post was very tongue in cheek but looks like some missed the sarcasm.
As was my original post ,but this is T.P

Foodbanks can really struggle to deal with large amounts of rapidly-expiring foods. It can't be stored, and distributions can be slower than ideal.

bacon cooking
Apparently its the only thing that makes (most) vegetarians compromise their beliefs for.
Well that is according to a couple of veggies that I know, anyway

You've probably never woken up cold and hungry and smelt bacon cooking then! ;)
Been to Egypt a few times and it’s the only thing I missed while there

Used to have a family of Iraqi refugees as neighbours, and chatting over the fence one afternoon the dad mentioned that although he was a Muslim, he found the smell of bacon cooking to be mouthwatering.
I miss that family, they were lovely. They had the most polite well adjusted children I've ever encountered. :-)

I’m veggie / vegan and really miss bacon and a couple of times I’ve cracked and had a bacon sandwich ! So sue me .......

Twice in a year won’t kill me

Great fun, but don't pick up any perfume bottles (in original boxes, wrapped with cellophane) if that is to be believed.

I can’t compute?

I have been vegetarian for thirty plus years, heading towards vegan (no milk, no eggs). I have never been tempted by bacon. My memory is that it smelled better than it tasted.

Cheese to vegans is what bacon is to vegetarians!

Steve.

This interests me.
Vegan, just dietary? Or full on card-carrying "absolutely no animal derivative products in my life" vegan?

I was vegetarian for 7 years, simply because I went right off the texture of it.
I do eat meat now, but can honestly take it or leave it.

Q. "Is there a vegetarian option"?
A. "Yes, the lawn is outside, help yourself... and I think you'll find it's cooked to perfection at the moment". ;) :D

The two Brits recently poisoned with Novichok were contaminated by a fake bottle of perfume they found in it's box.

Oh really bloody hell

I’d rather call it a plant based diet......

Vegan to me is a sabeture who tries putting farmers out of business and doesn’t wear leather shoes ! Mine is for health reasons only

Have you tried vegan cheese?

Yes it’s getting better! That’s all I can say about it!!!

It doesn’t melt!
So no cheese on toast or pizza but it’s ok on spaghetti bolognese

It doesn't even stop with leather.
Practically impossible to live a totally vegan life.

I initially gave up cows' milk about fifteen years ago. At the time, my nose was always blocked and I suffered a lot from sinus infections. Giving up cows' milk stopped all this. Within a couple of weeks, I could breath through my nose for the first time.

I went vegetarian in 1986. It just seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

I can't call myself a full vegan. The boots I am wearing now for work are leather - I feel a bit of a hypocrite.

A couple of years ago, I decided to stop eating mass produced, processed food. I try to make everything from raw ingredients such as fruit, vegetables, grains, nuts, pulses, etc. Companies like Quorn make some great vegetarian alternatives, but I wanted to be sure I wasn't consuming high fructose corn syrup which is in a lot of processed foods, plus I just like the idea of making everything from scratch. Why pay someone else to make something and put it in a convenient ready made package when I can do it for a lot less?

There is a Free From vegan cheese in Tesco which melts. It is Stilton style and is excellent.

Peppermint and Nettle is my favourite now. Honey is not vegan - but I do occasionally have a bit. I love ordinary tea with oat milk. I have found that with oat, I don't want to put sugar in tea, which is an added bonus!

Practically impossible to live a totally vegan life.
It is certainly much more difficult than being vegetarian, but is possible.
