Well I’ll be damned...Actually, it requires both.
Grain crops and waterYeah what do the cows pigs and sheep eat? It’s not Subway
Grain crops and water
Absolutely mega quantities of fruit and veg goes to waste and rots before it gets sold currently in the UK.
I know a wholesaler and he buys full pallets and tries to sell surplus very cheap as it starts to go bad but its hard to shift 20KG boxes of one thing.
I can get oranges for about £6 for 15KG, the wholesaler gets it much cheaper than that and supermarkets get it much cheaper than him.
I know mate my original post was very tongue in cheek but looks like some missed the sarcasm.Which all needs water to grow

Local food banks and homeless shelters should be able to make use of large quantities.
You've probably never woken up cold and hungry and smelt bacon cooking then!No one ever 'needs' to eat meat.
Steve.
Apparently its the only thing that makes (most) vegetarians compromise their beliefs for.bacon cooking
My sister in law is on a plant based diet and dumpster dives for food all the time ! I’ve been with her before now! Good fun
Been to Egypt a few times and it’s the only thing I missed while thereYou've probably never woken up cold and hungry and smelt bacon cooking then!![]()

Well that is according to a couple of veggies that I know, anyway![]()
Great fun, but don't pick up any perfume bottles (in original boxes, wrapped with cellophane) if that is to be believed.
The two Brits recently poisoned with Novichok were contaminated by a fake bottle of perfume they found in it's box.I can’t compute?
As Boney M said ..The two Brits recently poisoned with Novichok were contaminated by a fake bottle of perfume they found in it's box.
Used to have a family of Iraqi refugees as neighbours, and chatting over the fence one afternoon the dad mentioned that although he was a Muslim, he found the smell of bacon cooking to be mouthwatering.
I have been vegetarian for thirty plus years, heading towards vegan (no milk, no eggs). I have never been tempted by bacon. My memory is that it smelled better than it tasted.
Cheese to vegans is what bacon is to vegetarians!

Vegan, just dietary? Or full on card-carrying "absolutely no animal derivative products in my life" vegan?
I was vegetarian for 7 years, simply because I went right off the texture of it.
I do eat meat now, but can honestly take it or leave it.
Have you tried vegan cheese?I was a big cheese eater! Not anymore !!! No cheese or milk or coffee or tea ...... nettle tea now and a touch of honey
Have you tried vegan cheese?
I’d rather call it a plant based diet......
Vegan to me is a sabeture who tries putting farmers out of business and doesn’t wear leather shoes ! Mine is for health reasons only
I thought honey was a no-no for vegans.I was a big cheese eater! Not anymore !!! No cheese or milk or coffee or tea ...... nettle tea now and a touch of honey

There is a Free From vegan cheese in Tesco which melts. It is Stilton style and is excellent. It doesn’t melt!
So no cheese on toast or pizza but it’s ok on spaghetti bolognese
Peppermint and Nettle is my favourite now. Honey is not vegan - but I do occasionally have a bit. I love ordinary tea with oat milk. I have found that with oat, I don't want to put sugar in tea, which is an added bonus!I was a big cheese eater! Not anymore !!! It is certainly much more difficult than being vegetarian, but is possible.Practically impossible to live a totally vegan life.
