I was hoping he was being ironic..........I am not a developer but I understood what he meant.

We'll see. Just like Apples share price and image will take time to drop to where they should be from their exalted heights, so it will take time to get the Google Play market sorted.
But it will get there.
Nope...I was hoping he was being ironic..........
Just clicking OK gives you viruses.I'm not a developer either, I just don't understand the reference to viruses. I made a comment about being able to read to use iTunes (or a computer). I don't get the link between reading/iTunes and viruses.
Maybe it's just me
I wouldn't call the iPad a failure (!). But I don't think Apple will be as dominant as they are even now in a few years.I think apple will still rule this world though. The same people who said the iPad would fail are the same ones who are claiming failure now. They were proved wrong then and I think they'll be proved wrong again.

Just like my ex-Mrs.... Now get back in the kitchen. I want my tea!Just an average day for me

Nope...

Just clicking OK wipes your iPod.
People are stupid....
Clearer now?
A lot of people get viruses because they don't read and just click. I also know quite a few people who have wiped their iPod because they have not read and clicked. The same action is required for both to happen. That is why they are related.I still would like to know what do viruses have to do with the ability to read or the use of iTunes? In small words, please.
Nothing any different there from the idiot users who click OK, OK, OK, then wonder how in hell's name they've managed to install a virus on their computer.
Yes, it has happened to me (with my daughters iPod - I was loading my two daughters iPods from my one computer account which iTunes never used to like - I have no idea if it does now or not). I was flabbergasted that anyone would design a system like that. You were the one who stated that merely plugging into iTunes wipes the content, are you saying you are stupid?

I know SEVERAL people it has also happened to (mostly computer geeks too).
Nope. I quoted the right text from you....Ah, finally worked out what the hell you are on about after going back to your previous posts, and it appears to be your inability to read properly that is too blame.
Why reference and quote my reply when it has now become obvious you were answering PJ S who made a reference to viruses? A bit silly there, perhaps you should pay more attention to who you are replying to.
Yes. And?So, the conclusion there? You know SEVERAL stupid people?![]()

You are correct. You didn't.I give up :bang:, PJ S made the virus comment, (including the "just click OK" point), I made no reference to viruses.
I was drawing a parallel. I.e. it is as easy to delete an iPod as it is to get a virus installed. If you are replying to the virus comment the general logic is to quote the poster who made the comment you are replying to, not just chose a random poster who is then left mystified because they have no idea what the comment relates to.
No. Only once. You have to be stupid to do it twice. But no problem, in the same vein as managing to erase an iPod Touch twice, I'll leave you to carry on doing it your own way.
A lot of people get malware infections by visiting a web site that promises something desirable (nude images of famous celeb, free copy of expensive software, full version of not-yet-released blockbuster movie) and click on the 'OK' button.
Of course a lot of people also get malware by downloading what looks like a legit version of something cool for their Android device, only to find that it's sending spam text messages to all of your friends. Resulting in your phone company charging you piles of cash and your friends deciding they're not that keen on you after all.
You are correct. You didn't.
No. Only once. You have to be stupid to do it twice.

For? It wasn't an apology. I never claimed you did say it. As I posted above, I was drawing a parallel with people installing viruses.Thank you.
I don't own an iPod. I updated my first daughters iPod with some music (after begrudgingly installing iTunes - "what... I can't just copy and paste????"). I plugged my second daughters iPod in and just pressed OK. It got wiped.Apologies, I took your post to infer you did the same with the iPods of 2 daughters.

So... One iPod wiped. The other updated with the music I put on for my daughter. Me with a disk full of cr@p music that the iPod had sync'd to my machine that I had to get rid of. Brain dead software. Totally brain dead.
iTunes got rid of that night and found an alternative should I ever need to put music on their iPods again. That was 5+ years ago and I have no idea if iTunes is the same today - no inclination to find out. The whole experience gave me an (ir)rational dislike of iTunes - I have NEVER come across software so locked in.
fair warning time, we're sick of the amount of petty arguing, trolling, baiting and head-up-arsedness that is going on at the moment, so a short period of suspension will be given to those who we feel are disrupting the general flow of the forum, and permanent bans for any members that we feel have had enough chances.
Really? Wow. (seriously....)There have been several RTM's
Really? Wow. (seriously....)
I would agree, seriously?
Especially as the "heated" discussion was mostly between Arad85 and me, I'd like to make the point at no stage did I feel anything was beyond a lively debate (and I certainly didn't RTM anything)..
Some people seem a little delicate .

IN WHICH CASE....Yes seriously, and its not all about you two.
No matter what you think.
it looks like some people are looking for the slightest disagreement and reporting them, the 2 guys in this thread had kissed and made up so its all fine, but please take a few minutes to consider how other people view your postings, there are some delicate, easy to offend souls out there
we are thankful for all reports, however trivial the matter may seem
......there are some delicate, easy to offend souls out there
although somewhat at odds with
one presumes that the person who reported this thread (it wasnt me btw) thought it was worth reporting. If what admin actually mean , is 'don't report any disagreement unless/until its degenerated into a total bitch fight' it might be an idea to say so
Actually that was plural(s)that the person who reported this thread (it wasnt me btw) thought it was worth reporting.
So do IVery occasionally, I feel sorry for them Mod folk !
So, the conclusion there? You know SEVERAL stupid people?![]()
