Is it only me that thinks it is a little ironic that every other advert at the moment seems to be for Applepay?

Yup but I don't think apple pay is related to this exploit. I've not read anything to suggest that yet.
The scary thought there is that there are developers about who think it is ok to just use their core tools from dubious sources. Very silly people who caused this.
Is that an amalgamation of Apple and Scottish Widows, or has someone now found a big spider in the bag of apples they bought from Lidl?Apple & Widows would like to control every part of our life's![]()
Nope, the interesting thing now is that mobile devices are seen as the most used devices for accessing the internet, and so those people who would have previously attacked Microsoft products as the most popular have now moved to apple. The scary thought there is that there are developers about who think it is ok to just use their core tools from dubious sources. Interesting piece of social engineering.
If I read it properly, the developers got tools which Apple provide for free from another source because it was faster to download. Usually it's people trying to avoid paying for stuff.
It was also quite a clever "long con". Apple are going to have to scale up their testing of apps - or maybe use some clever hash numbers to figure out if dodgy versions of the tools have been used. Either way, the words "stable door" and "horse" come to mind.

Exactly this is just one of those that is relatively easy to fix and scan for, and a scenario that wasn't that clear at first. They did used to charge for this.
I know so many people who use roms for their phones, or downloaded copies of operating systems, or add additional repositories. It is very silly behaviour.
