Plasma's still rule i think (personally) at anything around 40+ in size. LCD's still suffer from bleeding picture juddering on fast action. My brother has a top end Sony 32 and it is pretty impresive, although wasnt upto my 42 LG plasma, although i have just replaced my LG as it was getting very hot, and was always slightly buzzing, not too much of an issue most of time, but got worse on poor signal feeds, namely ITV being worst. Too the point it was cutting out at times due to getting too hot. Heard lots of others complain about the same thing on a number of there models as they dont seem to fit fans on there processors.
Just got a new Panasonic th-42pz81b and boy it blows the LG to pieces, and most other TV's i have seen on display even on standard feeds watching ITV F1 and have never seen sure a good image HD is simply stunning.
LG make some nice stuff, but there quility control is pants, if you get a good unit you'l love it i am sure, but id be very carefull if you get a buzzing, i'd send it back, as it will begin to bug you after a few weeks. The Panny is completely quiet, even though it has about 4 fans in the top of it.
