Hello Marie
I went there in 07, just for 2 days and one night (was staying in Bodo, so we flew across for a quick trip)
Its a beautiful place to vist and very photogenic, did not take that many photographs though as we were with 2 other no photographers and i did not have a dsl then. (will see if i can find some of the photos later)
Dont know how you are getting there or where are staying though, but would suggest you arrange a hire car for a couple of days as the best scenery is inland
It was hot sunny and warm when we went in june, but you cant rely on the weather, it can be very wet and overcast a lot of the time.
There is a terrific viking museum in Borg about an hours drive from Solvaer through breathtaking scenery, well worth a visit, but bring warm clothes with you as it can get (and did) very windy and mind numbing cold on that part of the island.
The down side is that Norway is incredibly expensive, you really need a lot of money, especially for food, i go to North Norway quite a lot and generally the exchange rate over the years had hovered around the 10 Krone to the pound
and thought things were expensive then, went in June this year and it 8.1 to the pound
Edit just read and realised that you are going on an organised photo trip, so a lot of the above info might not be relevant, looks a great photo trip to do though i am sure you cant fail to enjoy it.
