Any Plumbers in? Unvented Hot water

And where does someone else crashing my car come into it ? :)

Right Stephen Hawkin, Your imaginary uncle has allegedly paid British gas £500 p/yr to look after his heating, a 3rd party apparently interfered with the supposed heating system, just like the ficticious car insurance company , they would not pay for the repair. Got it now?

Try getting a quote from British Gas.

By all means get a quote, but don't ever get them to do the work. They will make no effort to hide pipes anywhere. They will just run them by the most convenient point... And charge twice as much as anyone else!

Steve.

Why the insult, why couldn't you just explain what you meant ? Do you get angry and insult your customers if they asked too many awkward questions ?
My 'imaginary uncle' asked his gardener/handyman to take a look at a leak he had. Are you seriously telling me that because the handyman isolated the water to the boiler to stop his house flooding, the BG engineer did the right thing by refusing to carry out repairs ? Are you really backing BG ? Was my 'imaginary uncle' who's 76 and ill, ( that's why he has a gardener/handyman ) supposed to sit there for up to 24 hours watching his house get wrecked ?

Still laughing my head off at your 15mm pipe costs though!

Had a quote from British gas same year as my normal guy and during the British Gas £500 off sale. They wanted £4000 plus for a combi.
To have a combi it would need to be installed in a different place to my current boiler, hence the higher price than a direct swap (off my plumber). combi too big to fit in current position, but a condensing one would. (£1500 for that one)

Incidentally I had to call my plumber out last week as pipe in the loft was leaking, he came 2 days later fitting me in between jobs and sorted it in 40 minutes; cut out a dodgy inline valve and replaced it with compression fitted repair. Total cost £30. I have no problems with my plumbers quotes. Anyone else and it'd be £50 before he got through the door

Another Q was where is my shower fitted. Its attached to an external wall. A power shower worth following up I think, as has been said the cable pipes etc could be run over the top of the tiles.

[EDIT] Forgot to mention, I asked about unvented hot water cylinder. £2000 roughly he thought. Cylinder alone is about £1000 apparently.
