Thanks for the replies, I was looking for something more general however I will pick up some of the DVD's mentioned on specific subjects. At the moment I'm trying to get the basics right and move on from there.
Covers topics such as shutter speed, aperture and iso. Getting accurate white balance, improving composition, taking better pics with built in flash, avoiding common mistakes, overriding your cameras automatic settings etc
PhotoVision do some good DVD's.
They are created by some of America's best photographers.
I recently watched one that included a live photoshoot, so you actually got to see the photographer working with the clients.

Former Sunday Times photographer Philip Dunn has produced two excellent DVDs and they are available from his website.
There is one about 'Light and Composition' and another about 'Portraiture in Natural Light'. It is a bit cheaper to buy both together. Including postage that is £21.95 in UK
