Just wondering if there are any good Photography Tutorial DVD's out there that you would recommend for a beginner ?

I've bought a load of book but can't help but feel watching something may be handy :)

Cheers

The Zack Arias one light DVD is great as are the strobist DVD's

They are awesome DVD's but are focussed purely on using flash. I guess the OP is looking for something a bit more generalised.

Thanks for the replies, I was looking for something more general however I will pick up some of the DVD's mentioned on specific subjects. At the moment I'm trying to get the basics right and move on from there.

Thanks

Magic Lantern dvd produce one call

"Great Photos with your digital SLR"

Covers topics such as shutter speed, aperture and iso. Getting accurate white balance, improving composition, taking better pics with built in flash, avoiding common mistakes, overriding your cameras automatic settings etc

It's available on Amazon.

I have 3 semi instructional DVD's that relate to photography.

#1 Seeing Scotland with Charlie Waite
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Charlie-Waite-Seeing-Scotland/dp/B0013LIONU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1231879601&sr=1-2

#2 Go Wild With Your Camera
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wild-your-Camera-comprehensive-photography/dp/B000YFZ5P6

#3 David Noton - Chasing the Light
http://www.amazon.co.uk/David-Noton-Chasing-Mike-Mould/dp/0955828406/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1231879601&sr=1-1

None of them are truly just instructional but would help someone starting out I think.

Cheers

PhotoVision do some good DVD's.
They are created by some of America's best photographers.
I recently watched one that included a live photoshoot, so you actually got to see the photographer working with the clients.

Only thing is, they are so damn expensive.

Have a look on youtube!

I'm not joking, type photography into the search engine in youtube and enjoy :)

Go to http://www.photoactive.co.uk/index.php/photographydvds/
Former Sunday Times photographer Philip Dunn has produced two excellent DVDs and they are available from his website.
There is one about 'Light and Composition' and another about 'Portraiture in Natural Light'. It is a bit cheaper to buy both together. Including postage that is £21.95 in UK
His website also has a very worthwhile blog with loads of free tips. http://www.photoactive.com
