Reporter and her videographer killed whilst doing a live outside broadcast a short while ago.

There is no freedom in that country with its out of control gun lunacy only Fear-dom if that was a word.

so sad

Disgruntled former employee apparently.

So he won't be included in any issues with checks and refused a gun.
He just gets to go home, sulk and then get his legally owned hand gun out and blast away.

It's obvious the interviewer and camera man should have machine guns to protect themselves just in case some maniac decided to shoot them on live TV.

Just also seen the gunman has release a first person view video of him doing it.. He stands behind the camera and points the gun at the woman, just feet away but she doesn't notice. He waits as the camera pans around to the view to the side. He stands and waits until the camera pans back around to the women and fires.

I wonder what the NRA press statement will be on this terrible crime :-(

The shooter actually videoed himself shooting the victims and then uploaded it to Facebook. Deranged...

That despite the massive number of guns in the US and the massive number of US gun owners cases means this is very improbable and that vast majority of gun owners are responsible decent people. Its like banning cars because a drink driver runs over a child.

Resulting in a massive number of deaths! Surprise surprise.

And a lot of those responsible people say they 'need' a gun for protection. Not 'want' a gun. Is that freedom? No. That's fear. A lot of unhappy people mixed with thickos.

You logic is great bar one thing.. Cars are actually useful in everyday life.. Guns aren't.

There is no sensible argument that anyone can make for allowing the widespread ownership of guns.

Nicely forgetting all the gun owners who feel they need them out of fear. Don't want them. Not pleasure.

You can prove this for a fact?

All-time low crime you mean? Presumably the gun is so you can shoot in the air in celebration?

Targets, wildlife, car jackers, robbers etc all seem better targets myself.

People are very quick to pour scorn on law abiding gun owning Americans but not other groups. It seems odd to me?

Guns are good.

Pleasure, self defence, culture. In this era of civil unrest and crime, guns are great. Many enjoy them. Many like owning dangerous powerful dogs, they serve no purpose but people like to have them,

Like I said.. No sensible argument.

Oh. So who did you convince?

You are making things up to say I'm anti American. Do you often make things up?

To me, and gun owning Americans plenty. However, I hope they keep their laws. If you don't like America and her ways do not visit or live in America.

Oh. So who did you convince?

Not you. But I'm not bothered. This thread will go down the same tired, sorry and weary road with the same protagonists pontificating pseudo leftist rubbish. Have fun.

I have no intention of doing so.

So why discuss it or slag it off and seek to change somewhere you'll never step foot in?

Is there no subject you won't argue about.. Jesus Christ.

Healthy debates good. Why do you feel the need to question my motives for partaking in a thread. Is it because I share a different and opposing view to you on a country you have no intention of going to ?

I wasn't aware I had to visit a country before I could discuss it. Here's me thinking this was a public discussion board to discuss things..
I'd better never talk about the moon, or space, cos I've definitely never been there..

Sadly manufacture and retail availability of guns in states and countries where they are legal, are the main source of guns used to kill people where they are not legal. So you don't even have to go to the USA, to be a victim.

I've been to America and might even go again if they are lucky. Dont do guns though and think from the firearms perspective the USA is totally screwed up. The answer to violence always seems to be more violence.
Just saying.

I'm not particularly passionate about pro or con personal gun ownership. However I don't think this is a particular problem with gun ownership. This is a clear problem with people, if there wasn't a gun he'd have used something else. I mean the guy wrote a 220 page manifesto regarding his grudge with his former employer.

It's always a problem with people. There are probably always going to be nutters and criminals around.

OK . . . Could we please have ONE news-related thread that doesn't turn into ST4 vs the rest of the forum?
Stick to the subject matter, don't make this personal and let's not have any shooting of anyone in the face - or people will find themselves excluded from posting in this topic.

BTW that applies equally to Steve and to anyone else posting in here.
