There's a number of cases of cases with people in power blocking justice to people known to them. Masons, round table, church covering up abuses, it really isn't about race but human nature.

No, the failings here and in other similar cases you can't just chalk up to 'human nature'. It totally misses the point of why it was allowed to happen in the first place and for so long.

I see what is going on around me and pay close attention to it.

But you don't look into things you cannot (or rather don't want to) SEE going one around you, that's your problem.
Muslims all over the world took to social media to denounce recent events. Ordinary, everyday Muslims.
You just don't want to see it.

I speak and see normal everyday Muslims and they are far more vociferous re Palestine than they are about this.

but you cant possibly even begin to comment on what goes on in the ENTIRE muslim community in regard to the majority's thoughts and actions on extremist minorities. surely you realise that?

And you're the expert on this how...

Try coming up here to Glasgow where there are many "normal" Muslims, speak to them and you can tell speaking to a good number (I work with a lot) ISIS isn't the worry on their mind, but they have a lot to say about Palestine and the injustices there, rather than the events in France.

But Steve, who are you to say what should and shouldn't be on their minds on a day-to-day basis? Who are you to decide what issues they should and shouldn't care about?
Do they have to think about every conversation they have, and consider "Hmmmm, what would Steve think?"
You have no idea what they talk about in the majority of their time when not in your presence.

No, but their allegiances are very telling. They hearts and minds are not in the matters of the society they are living in, but the one they've left behind.

That being the case, why be here?

im not claiming to be, unlike you seemingly.

youre not answering my question. surely you realise that you have a fraction of exposure to muslims globally so could not possibly begin to comment on what the majority of average muslims thoughts to extremism are?

Difference is, UKIP expel such members from their party,....

‘Business owners should be free to turn people away for whatever reason they choose - be they gay, black, or a woman.
Councillor Donna Edmunds, still in UKIP

Actually I can, based on what I see and encounter day by day.

I can actually get that, people should be free to do business with who they want to.

I am thinking of the B&B owners who didn't want a gay couple in their B&B. Their business, their rules. They lost at court when said gay couple took them to it.

To me, its no different being turned away from a restaurant as you do not meet their dress code.

Re-posted to ensure this nonsense gets kept for posterity.

In Steve's world, Skin Colour and sexual orientation 'Dress code'

That being the case, why be here?

Have they told you this for a fact, or are you interpreting to suit your own agenda?

I never said that, but people with businesses should be free to do business with people they want and how they determine that "who they want" should be entirely up to them?

I won't normally get drawn into an argument with you Steve, but you said, and I quote:-

"To me, its no different being turned away from a restaurant as you do not meet their dress code."

In response to my post quoting a UKIP councillor "Business owners should be free to turn people away for whatever reason they choose - be they gay, black, or a woman."

No squirming your way out of that Steve, no matter which way you try and spin your response

I'll ask again since you seem to have missed the question.

I saw the question. It's blindly obvious when you engage in conversation what most of them feel truly passionate about?

No, but their allegiances are very telling. They hearts and minds are not in the matters of the society they are living in, but the one they've left behind.

That being the case, why be here?

Perhaps if you can address the point here

Again, there are laws about it, but I have more empathy for the UKIP councillor. Why should the government interfere in the affairs and business of private citiziens.

I gave you an example of the B&B owner who didn't want the gay couple staying with them. IMHO if they didn't want that, for whatever reason, then that is their choice, their business and they should be free to do business with whom they wish.

So a single conversation with a single Muslim, and now you're an expert on what every Muslim on earth is thinking. Gotcha. o_O

Ahem - Jimmy Saville is an obvious case. Friend to hospitals, police etc. Alleged to be a serial paedophile.
Last I saw he wasn't white and that went on for a significant amount of time.

Coverups etc are nothing to do with race.

What a thread
Seems I'm a right wing nasty because I dislike women being treated as second class, I like the idea of female kids getting an education, I abhore shariah law, I don't care if you draw cartoons of religious or any other icons, I don't like the idea of public floggings and hanging and believe in free expression and beliefs that are not to the detriment of others
I also don't want to kill homosexuals or believers in other imaginary gods
Muslims come across to me as the most intolerant and violent people on earth, so in general I'm very suspicious of them
I don't want to be British, I,m scottish but live with it as it's the will of the people. Maybe that makes me double racist or something

Carry on as you were, just had to add to the fun fest

I work with and know a great many.

So do I, of many nationalities, and the condemnation has been universal.
