Looking good, and definitely quick, i'm still thinking lol

I have just done week 6 cant believe you have week 7 done lol. A very nice shot I love the colours.

Really nice shot Andy and delicate indeed. Lovely colours and shapes. I would do some cloning on the right hand side to remove the colour/shadow creeping in.

Wow, nice one! I really like it, and it's very delicate indeed! :)

Week-8-Chaos

Week_8-Chaos.jpg

The idea behind this image is it represents the "Domino effect of Chaos" sweeping across the Middle East and North Africa at present

Just got hold of a few old M42 manual lenses of ebay and from cash convertors, This was the first time I have tried using full manual on my sony a330 I used my Pentacon 50mm, f1.8 M42 lens for this shot and I am please with the result.

Hi Andy

I really like your shot for chaos... and the thought behind it. My planned shot is of a similar vain but the picture itself is completely different!

You have caught the motion blur just perfectly... out of interest as its an area I dont really understand well what shutter speed did you use there? I really need to work on it... as you will see from my hard shot where there was too much blur.

Good luck with the manual stuff... It's what I learned and used for the first 5 years of my photography which started in the early 80's when I was 10! My grandad gave me his Pentax k1000... biggest mistake of my life selling my first camera so I could use the cash for a Pentax mz5n. Really regret it! Have thought a lot about buying another k1000 but its not thee camera and just not the same....

Really enjoying your 52.

Mark

shot was taken at around 100-125 using a light tent and tripod not sure of exact settings as was took fully manual I just adjusted the iso untill I had a decent speed and DOF

Really nice shot Andy. Simple, but brilliantly executed. Composition, DOF, focus, lighting all excellent. That motion blur takes the pic up a couple of notches.

Good one.

Hi, Andy, your chaos theme is a great one. I was drawn straight to the falling domino. On reviewing it again, I think the 5 and 4 domino is the better as it's teetering on the edge of falling.

Smilled as soon as I saw your finished theme. Really well processed and I particularly like the haze surrounding the glassess...

Cheers.

Just a straight forwards photoshop really but still looking forwards to my nightcap!!! Laphroaig Quarter Cask my Favoite I love the smokey Islay "Finish"

Themes have been tough the last few weeks but I like the challenge and they make you think. Pretty happy with my recent efforts over last few weeks I recon I'm on a learning curve at present

Belive me the espresso's are worth having too fresh ground beans and a bloody expensive espresso machine but yes the Laphraoig's my favourite too. Hardest part of the photo was pouring the whiskey back in the bottle but it was only 9am and was working later that day but nearly finished my shift and I know what I'm having when I get home!!!!!

Very good strong image. Good idea very well executed. Great colours and contrast.

Ever thought of a career in advertising? ;)

Patrick

haha good take on this weeks.

Really like some of your other shots too, the domino one is really well lit etc

Hiya Andy,

I seem to have missed your project, and found it for the first time today, so sorry for getting to it late.

Week 1: A lovely photo of a beautiful landscape
Week 2: The reshoot is definitely an improvement of the first shot.
Week 3: Great action shot for style
Week 4: Like your take on the theme for this one.
Week 5: Agree with comments made about the soft focus and also that a darker background would have benefitted.
Week 6: Another great take for open, and the focus defintely better.
Week 7: I think this one is my favourite, I love the colours and the shape. Something I still have to try some day.
Week 8: Wow another great shot and I like the domino effect of chaos with it.
Week 9: At first I thought this was a photo of an advert .... very well thought out and the composition, procesing, focus and contrast all work well together.

I can see you have learned a lot over the weeks and I look forward to keeping track of your project now that I have it tagged.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Hi Andy,
Ingenious idea for Finish, and very well executed. It looks very professional. (You will have ad men banging at your door). Great pp on this.
Just looked back to your Chaos week too. Fab effect, I love the motion of the falling dominoes. I bet that took some timing. Sorry I haven't got to your thread recently. Really great work

Week 10 - Trio

DSC01721.jpg

In honour of the 75th aniversary of the Spitfire heres a pic taken at last years Waddington airshow of the Battle of Britain memorial flight probably the most famous trio of planes flying today

Hiya Andy,

Wow, that was quick and how lucky for you to have a pic ready for this week's theme.

Absolutely fantastic! I love the colours, especially set against the bright blue sky with a few fluffy clouds, and as Lynne has said, the focus is spot on with the fab motion of the props.

I think there would be many a plane enthusiast happy to have this photo framed and hanging on the wall.

Well done

Cheers

Dawn :)

Waddington airshow is a great place for getting pics I'm looking forwards to attending again this year will be my 4th time there worth it just for the Vulcan

Hi, Andy, great photograph; you've got great depth to retain detail in the clouds and good detail in the plains. Nicely timed to get movement in the propellers and you nailed to composition.

Cheers.

Hiya Andy, that's a cracking photo! I have been wanting to do the waddington air show for a while now, but something always gets in the way! Maybe this year will be different. Anyway, the detail and composition is spot on.
Can I ask what lens you used for this?

I think it would have been my Minolta 4.5-5.6/100-300 AF Zoom that I used for this from what I can remember, At Waddington the flight line is pretty near the crowd line so you don't need massive lenses not that you don't see plenty big lenses there and I'm sure they get even better pics with them
