Is that not a bidet?More like go&wash....![]()
I grabbed the beard trimmer off the shelf rather than digging out the better tool. 15 minutes later, with the battery definitely on its way out
It would be rude not to IMOhe was actually a fairly high ranking tax inspector.I still take the mick out of him about it.
I remember a story from my school days, yes they did have books even thenThey ran out of battery 3/4 of the way into my head. It was an interesting look for 24 hours.
Its surprising the way the prices of a hair cut vary in a small area.FWIW they were more than I was wishing to pay but once used approx 4 times they will have paid for themselves in not paying the barber.
Yes. same here. The traditional barbers in my local area all seem to be "from" £15. I moved house a couple of years ago and have stuck with the asian barbers who I used before I moved, they were all very good and only charge about £7, including eyebrow and beard trim. But sadly I won't be going back, Covid-19 forced my purchase of my clipper set, which has made my barber redundant as far as I'm concerned. Maybe if I was younger and cared about my appearance it would be different. Its surprising the way the prices of a hair cut vary in a small area.
I've got 3 quite close. one run by women was my always "go to" 6 quid for a number 2 a neat tidy job too, eyebrows & neck shave.
Their prices increased steadily last time I went it was £12, the next time I went it was appointments only !
I didn't bother. making an appointment.
The other one I used intermittently. "traditional men's barbers" last time I went it was a total change of staff,
not one familiar face, £14! that used to be £7 . they didn't do a good a job that time either.
The one man band, an Asian guy, he does a quick all over #2 for 6 quid, and as good as the £14 bunch.
I've always owned (hair) clippers, Just for a beard trim. But sadly I won't be going back, Covid-19 forced my purchase of my clipper set, which has made my barber redundant as far as I'm concerned.
No problem with that either but I was referring to #2 and keeping the back tidy.When I've done it myself, I've not had a problem doing the back to a buzz cut;
Ah OK I just assumed you meant clippers no guard with the use of the word buzz cut.So was I.
When I've done it myself, I've not had a problem doing the back to a buzz cut
I can't see the back at all when I'm cutting it, but I can't see it afterwards either so I'm just guessing that it's OK..I've always owned (hair) clippers, Just for a beard trim.
The problem with the DIY job is that I cant see the back very well and can't get the back tidy at #2 although having said that at the for'pny all off I inadvertently gave myself it doesn't matter. That begs the question do I stick with the crew cut ( which I may have got used to by then) or go back to a #2 once this mess is sorted?
Could you get yourself a cheap external webcam with a long lead, and set it up behind you in flipped mode to give a mirrored view of your bonce back? The problem with the DIY job is that I cant see the back very well...

I guess I could, But it all sounds rather complicated to me, besides the bathroom is some yards from the computer screen.Could you get yourself a cheap external webcam with a long lead, and set it up behind you in flipped mode to give a mirrored view of your bonce back?
The computer screen is pretty wide so I guess that's coveredDo they do them in wide screen
True enoughbut I can't see it afterwards either so I'm just guessing that it's OK..
Not as much saved on shampoo as going for a bare metal #000000 balding clipperLong before the lockdown came upon us I'd settled on my retirement look: No 1 all over, once a week. Quick, effective and saves a fortune on hair shampoo...

Alas! No. Numerous follicly challenged male ancestors. Not as much saved on shampoo as going for a bare metal #000000 balding clipper![]()

I borrowed my sons Philips 5000 hair clippers, started off doing my own hair cut & gave up and asked my wife to do it. Happy with the result, I just need to find some clippers of my own now. They are as rare as toilet rolls were in March....^^^^^^^^^^
Sounds like I am going to have some fun(?) the first time I use the hair clippers..........some good insights (tips?) in posts above![]()

Lots of choice on AmazonI just need to find some clippers of my own now. They are as rare as toilet rolls were in March....
Lots of choice on Amazon
Having used my sons Philips cutters I have decided to buy some like them. Although Philips quote £55 Amazon resellers were asking up to £180 (now £80) but they can keep them at that price. Boots list them at £41.25 but they are out of stock. I can wait........Lots of choice on Amazon

These are the model I have ordered.....................and it seems (because there is qty & add to basket showing) that they still have some stock?

Personally i would go for the classic super taper model that the barbers use, unless you really wanted cordless.
Seems to be in stock here:-

I'm wary of most cordless things TBH Cordless vacuums for instance need to be stored where they can be plugged in, instead of hidden away in the cupboard under the stairs.Time will tell as to whether l made the right choice???

I'm sure ( well hope anyway) the battery life is better now than it was, as for clippers, they barely did a hair cut on one charge.
( they weren't cheap ones either, and got ditched in favour of corded ones)

Mine did that too.FWIW, my barber over the years updated his kit, for finishing he used to use a cutthroat razor but then a few years back had small cordless clippers just for that purpose which was always dropped back into its charging cradle.
Mine did that too.
But again you have to think about where you will site the charging cradle at home, maybe I'm a bit OCD but I don't like clutter, certainly not of that type![]()

That's all very well but that would mean crossing a door way hereI ran an extension lead in some conduit behind furniture to give us 4 sockets in the cupboard
Up and over? That's all very well but that would mean crossing a door way here![]()
