I have never enabled 2 stage verification on my Amazon account (despite endless requests to do so).
Over the last two or three weeks every time I log in or make a purchase Amazon requires me to authenticate by sending (by email) a One Time Password.
I would prefer not to bother with that procedure.
On searching Amazon to establish how to turn off this process I am presented with:-
How do I turn off Amazon verification?
To disable Amazon's Two-Step Verification, please follow these steps:
1. Go to the Amazon desktop site and hover over your name.
2. Click on Hello, Your Name and then click Your Account.
3. Click Login & security.
4. Click Edit next to Two-Step Verification (2SV) Settings.
5. Click Disable Two-Step Verification.
However, there is no step 5 and no apparent means to disable Two Step Verification.
Anyone on here know if this security measure is now compulsory.
Trying to get help from Amazon is an exasperating ordeal.
