Am I double profiling?

I have been having issues with colour casting with printing with my Canon IP4850.

I print using LR3 and as far as I can tell I am doing it right but I may have missed something.

When I print using the canon profile I some times get a green/blue cast where using printer managed colours I have no issue.

When printing there's no "no management" option I can see as it seems that LR does this for you. There is another colour options as well as the menu however and I haven't changed any settings in there.

Here is an example of what I mean. This is a photo from my wedding I have rights to print which I know was done on a calibrated monitor, though I did the colour select.

Left was printer managed right was Canon profile for the Glossy Plus 2 paper I am using. I am using non standard inks so this may screw it all up, but the printer came with these and I wasn't overly impressed by that.

Will a custom profile fix this? or am I just missing an option somewhere?

Some images do seem to print just fine using the profile but these tend to be nice warm images so I am wondering if it's the inks screwing it up?

need to make sure that you have ICM turned off in the canon print GUI box

Really? Where did you buy the printer from??

I have the iP4850 which came with original Canon inks. Seeing as a set of original Canon ink cartridges (£43 on Amazon) cost almost as much as the printer (£49.99 on Amazon), I would be VERY upset if it was supplied with 'non standard inks'.

Although I rarely use it for printing photos, when I do, I use the 'Photo Printing Pro Glossy' profile and get very good results.

Amazon market place seller had opened the box and swapped the inks out, stupid thing is it was only £3 more from amazon but I clearly didn't notice it was a market seller when I ordered.

I was angry but really couldn't face the hassle of sending it all back, especially as I will be going non genuine anyway once they run out.

I had the same inconsistent results till I went back to originals! now sorted

if you are using non canon inks with canon profiles the. I doubt you are getting the correct results as profiles are ink/paper specific.

I think you have to change the inks and try again!

I think I will end up buying genuine canon inks once these get low, save on the waste of having to print twice on some images. Seen them for £35 for a set somewhere, just need to find it again!
