Cheers for this…….appreciated.A cautionary tale , I’ve been using my D500 intermittently since purchase around 6 months ago and getting acceptable results , however using it yesterday and posting a few photos my lad noticed that the white balance was out , most of my pics had a blue tinge .. on checking the camera it was indeed set to white balance0 which is white cold .. I have never thought to check that before as I had done a full reset on purchase .
So I did another full reset then checked again ..
It seems that white balance0 is the default setting ,I have now changed it to normal so we shall see results later .. I realise that you can change WB in editing but I neglected to do that yesterday so it showed up in the photos .. hope this helps someone else …you never know .. there are 3 settings cold 0 , normal1, and warm 3

yes ,where as the tamron need af fine tuning and I suspect was drifting a bit , this bolted straight on to the camera , is sharp wide open at f5.6 and will take a 1.4 tc the only real advantage the tamron had is it was lighter weightAm i correct in saying that this has a focal length on the D500 of 300–750mm? How do you find this compared to your Tamron 150-600 g2 ? Thanks.
Thanks for the info Jeff, considering the Nik 200-550 myself. I would most likely have to use my monopod for any larger lens.yes ,where as the tamron need af fine tuning and I suspect was drifting a bit , this bolted straight on to the camera , is sharp wide open at f5.6 and will take a 1.4 tc the only real advantage the tamron had is it was lighter weight
The 200-500 is just about the limit for me hand holding ( nearly 80) if I need to play with adjustments it’s mono or tripod use though , got a cracking deal on mine from Wex . . As I said the ability to shoot at 500mm at F5.6 and be sharp is a game changer. The only downside I’ve found is it’s very easy to knock the lens hood off , I might get a screw on one insteadThanks for the info Jeff, considering the Nik 200-550 myself. I've got one but not used it much. Really nice and makes skin look good. Not as sharp wide open as the latest z mount stuff but you might not want that in a portrait lens. There should be lots of pictures on flikr. Focus speed is pretty quick.Has anyone ever owned a Nikkor AF DC 135mm f/2 D lens...? Just curious about it's optical output as a fixed prime..(?)
Any advice/experience/knowledge appreciated.

What make and model of car is this, looks 60s American, is it a Ford Thunderbird ?
Can any Nikon shooters recommend me a ‘pancake’ lens for my D700 please…?
Something like a 40mm/45mm
