I have a set of runes that my friends bought me for Christmas, but I havent really had them out much. So I decided to pick one at random and photograph it. It should be on its side...however...here is the meaning of the rune...

Perthro: (P: Lot cup, vagina.) Uncertain meaning, a secret matter, a mystery, hidden things and occult abilities. Initiation, knowledge of one's destiny, knowledge of future matters, determining the future or your path. Pertaining to things feminine, feminine mysteries including female fertility, and vagina. Good lot, fellowship and joy. Evolutionary change.

Ahh yes I get it

Complete BOLLX :cuckoo:

Congratulations to my friend who has just found out she's expecting another baby! :) It's early days yet but its exciting and I'm sure her two girls will already be excited.

She'll be a bloomin' bride when we photograph her wedding in July!

Blooming FAT you mean

I went to watch Sheffield Steelers play Newcastle Vipers tonight. A team they already played last week and won against, which meant that on the evening, with the way the other games panned out, Sheffield Steelers were crowned League Champions 08-09 a title they havent held in 5-years.

It was the first time I had taken my camera into a steelers game, and tomorrow [Sun 15th] Is the last game of the season I can make it to.

However - the last home game is 21st March 2009 against Basingstoke Bears - then its off to the play-offs!!

I was glad I took my camera, as on-ice celebrations ensured, Philips and his team-mate took it upon themselves to drench head-coach David Matsos with the ice-cold water! :)

some lovely shots in here Dell, loving the post its & the baby shot :D

More post-it shots

Interesting it was the day after you pulled that rune which is all about female fertility

Hmmm.. yes

Vagina stone - is that any better than a Kidney stone  or is it just a period you go through ???

:D

Really like the pink post it note shot and the ice hockey celebration shots.

The post it notes gives a nice insite into the kinda things you get upto (i guess im a bit nosey like Marcel :) )

And the ice hockey, well i wouldnt like to be the head coach getting soaked with ice cold water thats for sure!

wow thank you! :) Dont think I've been called bloomin' awesome before.

I do feel that I will look back over the year - and know what ive improved with. I suppose shots are generally easier to do when you know what your going to do/take etc. When times are planned. The "fillers" are generally what lets me [and probably other people] down. Sometimes I dont always have my camera with me, and the phone shots are the worst. I'm shooting higher ISO with the D300 and not being scared of using flash and stuff. I'm learning as I go along so therefore I will probably see a definate improvement in the shots along the year. I am only 75 days in!

Don't forget Del is relatively new to 'proper' photography, though has had fun with the artistry for quite a while (even if only with camera-phones)

So she's going through a developmental process where the technique is allowing her art to flourish as she comes more to terms with the mechanics of photography. She's a bit of a kid at the moment playing with the new 'toy' to see what it does, then applying what's discovered into a new shot or type of shot - she's learning and having fun, and by having fun she's learning too

When we're out on pure fun photography trips, she's one of the few others that's good to watch and hang close to, sometimes you think "What the Hell are you doing?" and it can be hard to 'see' in the same way, but results can be interesting & worthwhile

Us 'oldies' (the sensible ones anyway ;)) like to work with newbies as it can help us stay fresh - seeing through a new pair of eyes as it were

Love the tulip stalks btw, and while I like the beads I would have preferred the light source to be off to one side

I nice range of shots these last few days.
The necklace/bokeh one is particularly appealing to me anyway, its extremely effective.
I also love that one of Teigan, I like the crop and composition, such a great portrait, I wish I could do portraiture like that. What equipment do you use?
I like the abstract leaves one too.

Well said D :) and its my random art-y stuff that allows us to win penistone in the mix & match

And glad you like the stalks. I was unsure if the DOF would work but Im really glad it turned out like it did.

As for the Beads & Bokeh. I cannot find my TTL cable  so was just bouncing around until I got what I liked.

What a great bunch of shots, Particularly like the isolation of day 71.

Thanks Marc, its not often that on a bench, either during a game or training, that you do get the one player on his own. So I grabbed the chance with both hands as it were.

Thank you. I was playing about with the bokeh, on some of the stuff, certain things are different etc.

The portrait of Teigan was taken in the studio with a 3-light set up, and I was using my D300 and Nikon 18-70mm lens :)
