Adele's 365 *FULLY UPDATED* 166/365 210609

Really like the faces shot Del. I've often thought of doing something similar, but i only have one face...... miserable

The self portraits look like it was great fun and I like the idea of capturing the different sides of yourslef. Nice one Del.
Really like the lily which looks great against the purple background and what a lovely way to remember your nan

I wasnt so sure about the self-portraits one, I'm not a big fan of taking or posting pictures of myself, but the one in the middle I really like :) I really do like the Lily! And its different than shooting against white or black!

Reagarding the flowers DD you can view the rest of the set on my other post here

Today I went Shopping to Junction 32 at Castleford, formally known as Freeport.

I went for a micro-fibre fleece for edinburgh, as I knew they had a mountain-ware shop that I had bought t-shirts from there before.

I ended up getting two for £15 - VAT reduction! So I was happy! A T-shirt and some gorgeous new underwear....

And you get a shot of people shopping! LOL :)

Great thread Adele. Love the pictures and words.

Brilliant set of pictures of you.

Definitely Miss Barnsley 2009!

Thursday we have to have our images prepped and ready to be printed and entered into the Next Camera Club competition. Whilst I think this is a good thing, and I normally enjoy them. I am starting to lose my patience.

A lot of time, and I suppose we get it at talk-photography too - we are inundated with new members who pass judgement on something that is technically out of their ability to judge. At one competition, one of my images got marked a 10 because he didnt like babies. Thats like saying a 5-year old could have taken it - and it was in a studio.

We have three competitions where they are judged by external judges - these are "open" competitions, and to be honest, arent much better. One of my images got marked down, because the girl who was posing in her underwear, wasnt a size 8.

I love this picture, it was taken on sunday, but I have been trying to find a monochrome version that I like that gives the picture enough mystery, and beauty about it. I'm still not sure if I have hit the nail on the head. And whats more disappointing all together is I am not sure a "judge" would get it, as it may not be his type of image.

I take photographs for me. The girl in the picture adores it. It was taken against the wall in her front living room. No studio lights just the SB800 and processed how I like to process the images, but it doesnt work for everything.

She has uploaded it to facebook, as it was just an impromptu shot taken in her house on Sunday....and the comments from her friends are amazing.

And I'm sat here wondering, whether its good enough to be printed, for someone to turn around and say almost that "its crap"

the joys of art!!! as long as you and the model are happy, it doesnt matter what dome judge thinks

Intriguing, want to know more!

now then what you been up to  great photo too:thumbs:

 Nothing. Now this will test the belief of some people, or make people think I'm completely derranged in another sense.

Two of my friends are wiccan's and one reads tarot cards - he doesnt do it as a living but he does it for his friends etc, £10 here, £20 there

Anyway, my friend had her cards read on 2/3 Jan, and I had not seen the friends since then. I went down last night for a chat and a catch-up and we got discussing what had gone on. And they mentioned a conversation they had about Kettlethorpe [An area in Wakefield] I was adamant we'd not had the discussion, and apparently I had joined in. I thought it must have been the meds I was on, as sometimes it can leave me a little hazy, but I had absolutely no recollection of it. So much so I phoned my friend out of the blue and she just went "WTF is a kettlethorpe?" Oh dear - my friends then rang their part-time lodger, who said that we had discussed it.

No we were totally confused, and very weird. Hence why you got the image of the Cauldren last night.

We are trying to get to the bottom of it, as to why two of us have no memory of a 20minute conversation - and 3 people have.

I do believe in these "types" of things - and my tarot card friend is phenomanal at what he does, especially with blind readings [where he doesnt know the other person] but we're at a loss as to why two of us have no memory of that conversation. Not only that, not one of us have a clear memory of the entire night! And honest, we werent smoking waccy-bacca!

Love the portrait in no. 13, really stunning photo.

Thank you! :)

you been making some potions today then

I dont make them, my friend does : )

Great new photos Del - LOVE the one of your friends eyes - stunning!!

Thanks Han! She loves it too!

Really liking the last 2 Del keep up the great work :)

Sean

Thanks Sean!!!

i agree with the above
at the end of the day photography is all opinions and there are lots of people who like this dont worry yourself over a few who may not see it the way you wished them to

chin up you

the joys of art!!! as long as you and the model are happy, it doesnt matter what dome judge thinks
Oh yes....art is definately subjective.
Its not that its posting for a judge to critique infront of people who post out of focus images, for the club compeitions, and your work you know is a higher quality but gets marked down! Its annoying!

Hi Del.

I think its a great image! Im no expert but i like what i see the blacks are black the whites are white, its sharp, the composition I love, it leaves me wanting to know what she looks like, a lot of mystery in there.

it would be a winner in my eyes
cas

Thanks Carol, :)
