Adele's 365 *FULLY UPDATED* 166/365 210609

Never been to an ice hockey match but if it's anything like a normal skaing rink, I know what you mean about the light, must be hard to get the white balance right.

It's great to be into something the way you are with ice hockey, I'm the same with polo. It gives you something to really focus on (Sorry about the pun! :bonk:), just ba shame the season isn't longer! ;)

If you have one of those WB disc thingies [ive completely forgotten the name of them] then they're great and you can just set the WB with them and all is wonderful :)

Other than that sometimes its just prey and hope  I'm now shooting Raw, so I just play about with it later, I know this image I posted is still a little "off"

Don't know what you use to process RAW files, but in ACR, I've only just discovered the white balance dropper thingy (you see? I can do technical too!:D) where you just click it on anything white in the photo. Seems to work really well.

Ahhhh I'll have to have a look - I kinda do something like that but it didnt work quite so well. Problem is, even shooting in manual, the light changed so much depending where they were on the rink! so without editing them individually it can be a very big pain in the bum!!! and I'm not editing 450 seperately!

looking good dell, wheres todays post?????

:lol:you do realise the polo/ice hockey/photographers are all the same!!!

Today I had nothing much planned. I stayed infront of the computer, editing and working today.
Then I remembered I had the 10-20 on the camera from taking it out last night [and not taking any photographs! So I decided it would be fun, to take some self-portraits of me, pulling different faces.
We all have many "faces" that people see - so here are just some for you to have a look at.
I'm not a big fan on self-portraits, but I would much rather take my own picture, than let someone else take it.

I'm feeling quite, fun, funky, cheeky, flirty, naughty, and everything all rolled into one.

Looks like you had a lot of fun with that Del.

Know what you mean about doing self portraits. I hate being in front of the camera when someone else is holding it but I quite enjoy it when it's just me. I suppose you're a little less self conscious if no-one else is there.

I have more control if its just me!

These were taken hand-held, not on a tripod, with just the pop-up flash, cos I couldnt be bothered to reach other to the other side of my bed and get my flash LOL

And then I was just snapping away and realised that the camera was on ISO 800! Oops......Like the pics though so it didnt matter! :)

I think the high ISO combined with the B&W conversion works quite well actually, a nice grainy texture.

Really like that , I know what you mean about taking your own photo, you can keep taking it untill you get one you like , that's what I do :)

Oh I do hope so! :D

:p Quite not wondered how I'm going to take the shot when I go underwear shopping yet! Lol

Thanks Liss! :)
Yeah, I had "shoot" with DiddyDave last April, just a few shots before we had a client in, and I had one of the images printed off in BW for my nan for her birthday. She loved it [so did granddad] and so has everyone else who's seen it... every other time he gets me infront of the camera, I always complain!!!

Today's image is nothing too much but something I simply adored.

I love lily's I really do. But generally, as my nan used to say, "not those smelly ones" meaning these ones.

Bought two bunches of flowers to take to her crem-plot today, and my job was to cut the stems down before I went rather than doing it in the blustering cold whilst I was there. But to also take some photographs whilst I was doing it.

And here we have one of the finished articles. Glad I didn't shoot against black or white, and decided to add some colour to it...

So whilst today's shot, could be seen as something a little sad, it reminds me of those "smelly flowers" and makes me chuckle.

I'd much rather have Calla Lillies!

Always good to remember people that way Del. Think you made the right decision about the background as well.

Yeah Fabs it is, we only lost her at the beginning of October, so things are still a little Raw...

What choked me more, was I took a red gerbera, that was also within the bunches, and placed it on my friends grave a few rows back. :( but to have been touched by these people, it doesnt bring sadness...I just know I was lucky.

a sad day hun but a good view on it and a lovely picture to put to the good memories to

Lovely shot and the purple background is a great touch :)

love the faces shot, and the lily is beautiful. Lillies are strange, they have a strange, ethereal beauty that's sad yet beautiful at the same time. They're so photogenic and the purple background just adds to it and brings out the contrast in the petals. :)

The more I see the faces shot, the more I quite like it  I know what you mean about Lillies having that strange beauty about them.

Thanks for the comments guys!

:) David is a pain - but cos I work with him, he does have to put up with me a lot. I first told him about the Endo, because he needed to know when we were deciding we were gonna work together.

Today's a good day - tired and itching, but cant sleep cos of the latter
