Yes
On Saturday my son arrives to tell me he is dumping CS6 in favour of CC (He is a lecturing artist.).

I have been using a copy of PS that he had installed for me on my computer.
He asked if I would mind doing the same, I agreed thinking he would supply the necessary, he said he couldn’t as the seats had been allocated (Whatever that means.). Therefore, I would have to have my own copy.
He tells me if I’m quick and buy before March 31st, I can get it for £9 a month, so I did, all went well, that was Sunday.

Monday morning I boots up and “Oh calamity.” this electronic marvel that devours time and power, failed to come to life.
I did what every savvy “NOT”, ex sh*t under the fingernails mechanical engineer does. I switch everything off, give it a good hiding and switch it back on.
It boots up fine only thing is CC is blank and none of the installed programmes would work.

So being the rational calm individual that I am, I rebooted. Still the same, so I un-installed all of CC and re-downloaded and again installed, on opening the CC panel again was blank. I was stumped.

I approached Adobe for advice (I’m still waiting.).
Ten or so hours later, I stumble across a response to a similar problem on an Adobe forum.
The answer although in geekish I followed with fingers crossed. Thankfully, it worked and I can now announce that I am the latest newcomer of what seems at first usage to be an improved new tool that I look forward to playing with.

£9 a month I hope the pension holds out, that’s three pints of “Tribute” gone.

The solution to the problem is explained in a thread in the computer section.

That sounds like loads of hassle lol. Glad your sorted. I'd have stuck with CS6, clouds are part of the sky:p

Er, without sounding dumb, whats CC?

In fairness when I have ever had a problem or even a question, I have used Adobe's online live chat system and received good accurate quick help

CS6 according to adobe is no longer available to buy. So I guess once physical stocks dry up you won't have much choice.

mmm... that's a bummer. I may have to look into it. I'm still on CS5 and had kind of thought about using that for a long as due to expense but already came across ACR issues on raw files and as I am waiting for a new camera that appeals to arrive for any willing manufacturer it will no doubt need an ACR upgrade and I don't believe I can do any more with my current version. Might be a converter, haven't really looked into the issue overall, just some high level thoughts. This is the kind of news that has promoted it up my list of things to do though lol.

Ah. They want us to do it all online now??

I really don't like the way Adobe is going, with subscriptions and now CC. I'm guessing this is why my copy of CS3 will no longer connect to their servers??? Will stick with my sub free LR4 for a long time I think.

its cloud in the rough sense of the term.

essentially you download it, it has a subscription fee and it needs an internet connection every 30 days to validate your license.

I think that Adobe need to watch their backs because there are going to be any number of creative software suppliers after their business. I do not want to get stuck with another monthly fee, I want to pay up front for the product and use it for as long as it is useful to me

Good afternoon all,

TheDrift,

Shaun, I should clarify things.
I did go back to my question at the “Online chat panel.” a member of Adobe had replied, and the fact that I was not there to reply, signed off.
I had been going back to “Online chat.” for some two hours, to no avail. So I gave up.
I should have been more patient.

I have to say that after all that happened I am now “Extremely Satisfied” with the programme.
The addition of Lightroom (Something else to learn, in my dotage.), and other add-ons, is very welcome, as is all the online linked help and tutorials.
