A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

The Running Man is awesome. Something a bit thought-provoking and eerie about it. Top spotting and a great capture.

Thanks Mark, Just managed to get the shot before the chap spotted me and stopped running :)

Fantastic Julian, I think it might be better with a crop to lose the house on the left. But that's me being really really really really picky. ;)

Yeah maybe. I've just 'cropped' it with my hand over the screen and can't decide whether it looks better shorter or not. Looks great both ways tbh.

Thanks Jonny & Mark,

Yeah can't decide either, probably just enough space to make it work

Feeling a little 'Smug' with this shot as it's the most popular daily shot on SmugMug too ;)

13th November: Spooky Friday 13th Self Portrait

Shot taken in a dark room with nothing but torch light on my face, applied infrared thermal filter in Color Efex Pro plus various other tweaks in PS.

14th November: West Wittering Beach Part 1

The weather on Saturday was one of the windiest day’s we can remember, This shot was taken with my old Canon 350D, it got totally sandblasted taking this shot, I could hardly stand up in the wind.

15th November: West Wittering Beach Part 2

Made another trip to the same beach as yesterday, this time the weather was much more favourable. Didn’t take any chances though as I still took the old Canon 350D. This is a shot of the same marker on the beach as yesterday’s

16th November: Sea Defense

Got home early today so did a little bit more exploring of the coastline near home, the weather was not great so took the old Canon 350D out again. This part of the sea wall looked like like a Siegfried line of the sea, but it needs to be as it takes a hammering.

Finally connected to the world again, got my broadband access up and working today :)

Thanks Bill

I did intend the today's to be a HDR, but the 3 exposures I took, even on a tripod the shots looked awful when merged, it was that windy down here on the coast. But the Silver Efex mono processing seems to have worked ok on this single exposure ;)

Thanks Dave

It's not a bit of damp, more the sand. The sand on Saturday was shocking, could hardly open your eyes. Rather expose a camera worth a couple of hundred, than one worth a couple of grand to those conditions ;)

Thanks Lisa

Lightbox is a box lit from inside, like those used for viewing negatives or in the medical world for viewing xrays etc

18th November: Action Stations!

Finally managed to watch the local lifeboat launch on a training exercise tonight. Fantastic sight and a nice bunch of people too. Had the wrong lens with me really (nifty fifty) due to the lack of room to move around. But will be back in the future to take more shots.

This shot has not had too much processing in Photoshop, other than Color Efex Pro Bleach Bypass filter

Thanks Merv, looking forward to using it some more, will become my rainy day backup tool

Will get a better shot with my 24-105 at 24mm (to get more of the boat in). I'm actually standing on some steps taking this shot (can see them in my Nov 8th shot). Was great watching it go down the ramp out into the blackness, could still see a big splash. Yep they are all volunteers.

19th November: Admiralty Quarter Apartments

This building has been on my list for a while now, the sun was just right today so took a few snaps with the nifty fifty. Minimal processing other than Silver Efex Pro high contrast red filter, this has really brought out some nice textures in the building. Used a control point towards the bottom to reveal some of the wooden decking in the shadows.

Thanks mate, the filter has really shown up the clouds, could not really see them at the time.
