A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

17th October: Dixons Electrical Urbex

Have driven past this building in a neighboring village a couple of times and just knew it needed to be snapped. All sorts of processing on this one (it's taken me ages). Single shot, saved as 3 different exposures and subtle HDR processing in Photomatix, then into PS and I had a mega job to clone out another building that occupied the entire left hand side, then all sorts of minor tweaks, the most significant being a bleach bypass effect in Color Efex Pro.

Thanks, Jonny. There was a modern bungalow next door and did not help the composition, so went through the painful process of removing it :)

18th October: Autumn in Ice

Cannot begin to explain how frustrating this was to setup and shoot (you'd think it would be easy). Having to hold the block of ice and work the camera while the ice melts under my two spotlights. Ended up blowing the bulbs in both lights. Had this planned for some time, not what I was expecting, but it will do.

Thanks Jonny, I was using a speedlite on the camera too (bit not for this particular exposure), just used the spots to backlight the ice, well one of them as I had already blown one at this stage :D

I can't believe you sometimes!
Just when I find my door you find a whole building and I was planning an autumn leaf shot too.
I'm sure the leaf is much better than anything I'd have done though, looks great.

Thanks mate very kind.

It was funny, whilst planning this all weekend, I had in the back of my mind that somebody else would do a similar shot :D

19th October: "Yomper"

Statue at the entrance of the Royal Marines Museum, Southsea, commemorating all the Marines that served in the South Atlantic during the Falklands War of 1982

20th October: Late night filler shot. Thanks to Mrs ShrubMonkey for suggesting the subject matter (after my many countless useless attempts tonight).

Not sure how many more shots I can post, as we are moving next week and my broadband connection will be terminated any day.....

Thanks Jonny.

I could be without broadband for a couple of weeks. Will be off the radar for a while, lots of packing and stuff to do too, but I'll still be tacking my pics each day ;)

**** that's class. Makes me want to see a film version of it though..

I'm packing for a long weekend at the minute Julian, not up to your packing standards but I still feel I'm taking way too much

Thanks mate, it's processed in Sliver Efex pro with a Kodak BW 400CN Pro filter ;)

Made a quick dash to Fort Nelson at lunch, but walked around with no idea of what to take, only had the nifty fifty with me, so I'm pleased with how this grab shot turned out.

You going anywhere nice?

Heading for Shrewsbury via the Lake District. Should be a nice break. :D

Thanks 78, it's a long tunnel under Fort Nelson (one of many forts that overlook Portsmouth).

Thanks Lisa, The focus on the light was intentional as I wanted to focus on the fantastic rocky wall in the immediate foreground, plus the distant tunnel and lights being out of focus added a level of mystery. well that's what I was aiming for.
