A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

The 11th October photo is great. The light upper wing makes it very interesting.

The colors of the 10th are excellent as well.

Thanks, I decided on the 2nd shot as I liked the contrast of the sky and the aircraft.

Thanks, the rutsty barn roof and sky are great contrasting colours.

Thanks Lisa, I've been thinking too about changing my shot for the day yesterday back to the first one :D

12th October: Southsea Castle Lighthouse

A bit of history . . . Southsea Castle was built 1544 as part of a series of fortifications around the English coast constructed by Henry VIII. The lighthouse was added in 1820 and is still in use today guiding ships into Portsmouth Harbour.

Spent ages processing this shot in Color Efex Pro, using a reflective gold filter to remove the harsh white light and produce a more natural warmness.

Made a retrospective update to yesterday's picture (Lisa and 78 helped ;)), decided to use my original shot of the day . . . .

11th October: AN2 Under Moody Skies

Thanks 78, not sure what you mean be green (the top spire is green), but the lighthouse is black and white :)

13th October: Portsmouth Naval Memorial, Southsea. Commemorating those members of the Royal Navy who had no known grave, the majority of deaths having occurred at sea where no permanent memorial could be provided.

Another beautiful day, with stunning blue skies, adjustments in Silver Efex Pro has given added impact for this mono conversion, after levels, curves and various other tweaks in PS.

I've never used it, but some word processing software can copy scanned text can't it?
Would it recognise text in a photo? You could then use the search function to find names... maybe. :bonk:

I've just searched for one of the names in my photo on the above link and it's found it. So JD if you have any names I could always go back and take a picture for you?

Great shots recently Julian. I particularly like the building abstract on 9th October - well spotted.

And of course the Yak and Antanov - super :)

Great processing on the memorial shot - spot on!

Many thanks Dave :)

You made a wise decision not coming up to Popham (spoke to a chap there who said the end of season fly-in was both Saturday & Sunday). Luckily I didn't have far to travel ;)

Was not sure at first but, but I think you are right Dave, the tighter crop just edges it, thanks
