One thing you can try for your ham, is cook it in cola! I'm trying it for the first time this year![]()
On the surmise you mean normal standard Cola...Glad to hear your water is back, I know how frustrating that can be!
On the other hand, I did indeed boil my ham in cola, ant no lie, it turned out delicious! Usually the ham is always left on the plates, my girls are not big fans - but this year they lapped it up, it was definitely a little sweeter but most certainly more tender, less chewy

The huge sugar content would make the meat sweeter and as for more tender, IIRC Cola has Phosphoric Acid in its formula and I would imagine that would be a contributing factor in the tenderising process.
