A bit of fun - WORDLE. (NB, US spelling!) No spoilers please

Another 5 today 1G, 1G 1Y, 1G 1Y, 2G 1Y after which the Y could only go in one place so effectively 3G and with all the discarded letters I could only think of one word to fit and thankfully it did 5G.

Yup, eliminating letters an be as helpful as ys sometimes. I used to use TRIED as a starter fairly often and disposing of those was handy!

4 today, third line OOXOO left only one choice I think.

5 for me (which looks like a half decent result, judging by the comments above!)

yxxxx, xxygx. gxggx, gxggx and finally the solution.

5 again today 1Y, 1Y, 2G 1Y after which I could only come up with 2 words to fit and just to keep my run of 5's I chose the wrong one first 4G, 5G.

Not my usual time to do this but I'm out most of later today so gave it ago and got a better than my last few days 4. 2Y, 2Y, 2Y, 5G.

This a new one, I’m stuck on 3 lines. After BBOXX and a promising XBOXB I can only see one word but it’s XBOXO. Have to come back to it later :(

EDIT. I’m missing the obvious answer, something I use every day! So got it in 4. I can see why it’s a tricky assortment of letters :(.

4 for me. Should have been 3 but I managed to convince myself that the solution isn't a word. Apparently, Merriam Webster feel the same way as me but the OED doesn't! I wonder if that might stump some of those across the pond?

xyggx, xxggg, xxggg then I tried my non-word!

It's a non word in my book too.

Well, it's certainly not in my old dictionary - as compiled by Samuel Johnson!

Shakspere wasn't the best speller either - he even wrote his own name with several alternatives!

Greek maps can make navigation... interesting too. We have several maps of Crete and there can be a few alternatives to those on the road signs, not to mention the added punctuation on some of the signs in the form of bullet holes!

5 today.

What was yesterday’s word?
Email. I think it’s OK, I guess people ‘complaining’ spell it as “e-Mail” (including uppercase “M”, as my iOS spillchucker likes) and I used to but long ago changed to ”email”.

Standard 4 today after shaky start of XXXXB then unhelpful BXXBX but XOOOX made the solution a fairly obvious guess.
