A bit of fun - WORDLE. (NB, US spelling!) No spoilers please

Blimey. I thought 4 was good with this one.
Chance of success is so wide depending on luck of one’s starter word — which doesn’t even have to look very promising. Today I had XXBBO on my first line which, though good, doesn’t look very exceptional and yet it only left 3 possibles (WORDLEBOT confirmed) so a 4 was inevitable since all 3 were common words.

5 for me. xxxgx didn't change with the second guess and a fresh starter then gave xxxyg. An attempt to find more letters and to relocate the y gave me xyyyx which helped me to the ggggg.

Easy 3 today, XBXXB OOXXB left not many possibles I think and a lucky guess gave OOOOO!

4 for me. xxxyy as a start which didn't really improve when I shifted the last letters to the start and used 3 new ones. A 3rd guess, juggling the 2 ys saw a 3rd y appear so I had yyyxx and could only see one answer - so could Wordle!

And yet another 3.

it’s interesting (to me) that my choice is sometimes swayed by the fact that I know it is not UK English. I used a word today that I’m not sure would be used over the pond, however it was useful in eliminating letters, so I went ahead.

Will it letter you put letters in that are not a real word? That might narrow things down a bit :)

No. If it's not in it's dictionary it rejects them.

2g, 2y, I would be aiming for a 2!!! :P

As Brian said, it only accepts words that are in its dictionary but that’s a larger list than the list of solutions.

Frustrating four today. Nearly a 2 after an unhelpful start of XXXXO. Near miss 2nd line with OOXOO leaving 2 or 3 possibles, picked the wrong one of course so OOXOO then OOOOO at last.

Team 5. :(

xxyxx, xyxgx, xxygy, ygxyy, solved.

Steady progression to a boring 4 today. XXXXX OOXXX OOOXX OOOOO.
