A bit of fun - WORDLE. (NB, US spelling!) No spoilers please

4 for me. xxyxx, new starter gave xyxxx, combining the 2 xgxxy then some head scratching (now wonder it's thinninged!) gave me the ggggg.
 
I read it as 4 - separated by commas.
 
Simple 2 today. My usual starter gave XBBBO and only 2 possible words according to WORDLEBOT— I could only think of one and that pretty obvious when rearranging the blue letters!

I keep meaning to ask you what your letters stand for (I can see what they mean). mystery solved, but I don’t see any blue on my screen, only green, yellow and then light and dark grey.

Blue & Orange. It’s in Settings (gear wheel) “High Contrast Mode”good for dodgy colour vision (and dogs! ㋡ ). I’m red-green colourblind — mostly affects confusing red & black under poor light but I do find the YG in Wordle difficult though who knows why since it probably varies with the viewing device or display settings.

Unlikely to affect you!

In ”Settings“ you can also choose “Hard Mode” which I’ve always used but I think most here don’t. Not sure if it’s really harder but I prefer it.

3 here as well 3Y, 4Y, after which I could only come up with two words and I was lucky this time 5G.

Interesting! It never occurred to me to look for settings. I just thought I was being a bit dim not working out what it meant :ROFLMAO: O for orange then ha ha! In the original Mastermind game it was black for the right colour in the right place, wasn’t it?

hmm hard mode? Does that mean there might be different words for you then?

No. Hard mode just stops you putting in a word that doesn't contain letters you've already found, so if you're stumped you can't try a completely different word to find or eliminate more letters (unless you start from scratch on a different device). If you have a habit of forgetting to reuse letters like I do it's actually 'easier' mode.
 
5 for me - but in well under a minute. gxxxx, gxyxy, gyxyx, gyggx and could only think of one option.

Thank you. I can see where you're coming from. It is probably harder, but could be easier. I think one suggestion I read, was to use completely different letters for the second word anyway, but I've never had the courage unless I've drawn 5 blanks.

I keep thinking I should try the same start word, but then I can't even remember what words we've already had, never mind which start words I've used. :ROFLMAO:

Edit: actually I misread that Jan. I've realised that is what I do anyway.

Like @Jannyfox says, same words, forced to reuse letters already correctly guessed and I agree “Hard” is not really a good description, it’s just different. Different strokes for different folks!
 
4 here. Blanked with my first starter then got xxxxy. Next guess moved that y and gave me 2 gs (xgyxg) and a few seconds of thought saw me solve it.
 
Amazingly a 2 this morning.
My starter word gave me 2Y. The rest of the grey letters ruled out lots of words.
So I just put in a wild guess to see if I could turn the Y into G and hey presto!
 
Looks like I”m wrong again, said it was tricky and then we have 3, 4, 3, 2, in quick succession!

Not so much easy for me (4) as lucky guesses.
 
Well I thought it was going to be tricky after my starter gave me 0 but my backup for a blank starter gave me 3Y after which I could only come up with half a dozen words that would fit my next guess gave me 3G 1Y which left me with only one 5G..
 
Phew today! Though I think I had finally exhausted all possibles by then so failing was impossible.
XBXXX XXXBB XBBOX but then unlucky choices XOOOO XOOOO until finally OOOOO
