I don’t know. I usually, subject to what the first throws up, get all the vowels into the first 2 so I’d move to Ys on the third. What do you do?I've been playing (guessing!) this game since the middle of January. So far every word has had a vowel/s in it. At some point they must use a word without a vowel, do you not think?
That'll catch a few out I'm sure![]()
Yep, I should have got that but we called it xylolxylyl...
.I find I have a tendency to think common words are more likely which I have to resist as it should not be true if they are a random choiceView attachment 343691
I've been guessing the first based on previous words tbh, not precisely but I see in my mind at least a very loose pattern where the game tends toward certain starting letters. Worked today, could have had a 2 if I'd spent a little more time thinking
The word list is apparently also available on his website — beyond my skill to access even if I wanted toMy first word gave me two yellows, I just couldn’t think of a word that fitted so I left it for a few hours. On my return I almost immediately thought of one word that worked…bingo! 5 greens in two goes.(That's not a spoiler!)
I seem to remember reading that Mr Wardle used a word list of 400 words of his own choosing, I’ll see if I can find the reference.
I've noticed there are no pluralised 4 letter words etc
Ah, that’s a difference from Wordlegame then as “s” plurals are allowed, eg “frogs”.I've noticed there are no pluralised 4 letter words etc
3Y from my first word. Thought of 2 common words that would fit, and typically guessed the wrong one. The other was correct, so missed out on getting it in 2 for the first time.
5 but relatively quickly - not too much head scratching to get there (just several guesses!!!)
Which one are you doing? It turned out I was doing https://wordlegame.org/ which has a U.K. spelling choice, 4-11 letter choices and unlimited “games”Some of us are doing different puzzles.
I couldn't understand why people were talking about US spelling until I saw a solution on twitter, for a different word from a different site. Totally different from mine.
Since the old one is still running today it’s possible to cheat by using both, they have the same wordThe new link to the REAL Wordle (as opposed to the many imposters!!!) is https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html .

That is the original Wardle one that everyone (bar me sometimes) is doing
YesPresumably, the original site will be closed down and a charge be made to play? I do look at the NYT sometimes and like to play their 'spelling bee’ game, you can only get so far before you’re asked for a subscription, albeit a reduced one just for playing the games etc.

No doubt the old one will be removed.
I haven’t had a redirect but I already had the tab open and currently have both tabs open.I had the original link in my favourites bar and when I clicked on it this morning, I was redirected automatically to the NYT site. Probably around 08:00. Stats appar to have carried over from the old home.
