Should we have a new thread for nerdle?
Got it in 5. It should have been 4 but put a number where I already knew it couldn't be (I blame the colour coding not being very intuitive......)
 
4 today ... 2Y, 1Y + 2G, 3G ... solved.

It's interest what folk use as their opening gambit word, I use a word that contains 4 vowels, statistically I should get at least 1 letter.
 
3rd try today, so easy

1Y, 2G, Done.
 
Well a better than my average 3 today, good first guess narrowed it down and it was just the case of picking the right one.
2G 1Y, 4G, 5G.
 
2 for me today. Best score yet. Yes it was easy but only if you get good on your first guess 3y for me.
 
Addictive… I went to bed 11pm tired. By time finished drinking my horlicks . It was 11.30. Thought may as well wait til midnight for the next days Wordle. Had to have quiet word(ha) with myself in the morning….
 
1. Only just found this thread so sorry! but haven’t read it all!

2. Mostly I can’t differentiate the yellow & green but there a ’colour blind’ setting on case anyone hasn’t found it.

3. Are you all using the same word as first guess?

4. I suppose the free version disappear now the NYT has bought it.

I use different words each time, just whatever pops into my head or the type of word I think they would use, trying to cram in as many vowels as possible has never worked well in my experience [often there will only be the one]

No idea what the NYT will do, but I imagine it'll be riddled with adverts soon enough :/

As long as the adverts are to the side rather than 30 second animations/movies between each guess, I'll keep playing. Won't be signing up to anything though!

Probably not as they have a games section that is an extra subscription (£0.75 weekly I think).

I think there maybe freebie copiers turning up since I read that he had copyrighted it.
 
I can’t see that it would be possible easily to beat the 11 letter version while restricted to the same number of tries :(. I think FACETIOUSLY might be a good starting word though :thinking: .

2 today - pure luck as was just using the second guess as a “letter eliminator” rather than a “real” guess……

2Y + 1G, 2Y + 1G, 4G (picked the wrong letter of 2 ... again!) 5G
 
3. Could have been 2. Hade first and last after one.
Guessed wrong one of 2 remaining opitions.
 
Gah! not fair! coulda been a 2 here too, looks like I got it but the 3 letters in the middle were yellow on 2nd, first was G,Y,Y. I'll take a 3 anytime though
