Do you know that your starter is in Wordle’s list of words -- ie the list of words that may appear not just the list of acceptable words which is greater. If it’s not then it’ll never come upToday's was a bit of a head scratcher after 2 (completely blanked the first. I'm thinking about changing my start word, but the day I do it's going to come up............) but solved in 4
I mostly start with OATER which I suspect will never come up but should should ORATE which seems more likely to be in the list
The reason I think no vowels (which isn’t possible without using y, except with Welsh words maybe) is that if you take all vowels out sentences are still mostly readable so I suspect consonant only words might help guessing … if you see what I mean ; (.A 4 today
I use the same starter word and also starting to think about a new less vowely word

I mostly start with OATER which I suspect will never come up but should should ORATE which seems more likely to be in the list. I use them because they contain the 5 commonest letters in Wordle’s list (it is claimed!) but 8m not sure that’s an advantageand am coming to think more consonants would be better.

Yes I get that about the fun. I think I’m not really into the “fun” of it. My attitude is that (if I could be bothered, which I can’t) is that I’d be looking for a “system” that would get the right annswer first go every time, which would be fun looking for but no fun once you’d found itI have no idea if it's in the list and I'm not going to look. That would take some of the fun/head banging frustration (delete as appropriate) out of it. My previous start word came up.
Today's was in the latter category (see above). With 2 tries left and still only 2G I had 2 options (there may have been more I hadn't thought of) but decided to 'think more American' and got it in 5
