Phew today. Struggled through XXBXX BXXXX then XOXXX XOXXX XOBXX until OOOOO which I had considered but it just seeme a bit of an unlikely word.

xxyxx improved to an xgxxx where it stayed for #3. Another step forward gave me xgxxg but I just couldn't see it and didn't improve for #5. Could only see one possibly doublable letter in what I had left, at which point the solution was so blooming obvious, I could have kicked myself!!! Never mind, a solve is a solve!

Scraped in with a lucky 6 today 1Y after starter tried backup that was even worse 0 but at least I had eliminated 9 letters 2G, 2G, 2G for my next 3 guesses and by now half of the alphabet has been eliminated but still plenty of words left 5G.

Yes! 1y on the 1st try. 2g on the 2nd and there it stayed until there were so few letters left it could only be one word.

Edit- I wanted to say yesterday, but resisted, that after my first three guesses, my next was a jammy 3G but I was worried someone might spot it as a spoiler.

Stonkng 3 today! Miserable XXXXXX then XXBBB when I tried all the missing vowels, led skillfully to OOOO . First day back home after week in hospital with heart ‘event’. I think all these new pills must be improving my guessing.

A bad start with a blank first guess didn't improve much to xxxxy. xyxyx then xyyxx didn't leave me many options - in fact, I could only see what turned out to be the correct solution given the letters I had left.
