Hello,
So I just got my shiny new 7D in the post, I've not had a chance to even turn it on yet (waiting patiently, work is busy etc).
I spent around £800 on it (import) which was a stretch for me. This is an upgrade from a well used 400D I've had since release.
Obviously this post is a bit premature, given I haven't had a play with the camera yet, but, logging on to Gumtree this evening I noticed that I could get my hands on great condition (used) 5D MK IIs for around the £900 mark.
I've read everything going on 7D vs 5DII and I know its been pretty much exhausted. My reasons for going for the 7D were primarily: it's newer (the 'outdated AF' label on the 5D puts me off somewhat, as well as there now being the mark 3, and I have read about the soon to be release firmware update which also sounds promising). My worry is most of the positives for a 7D seem to be in the sports and wildlife realm, neither of which really interest me. I'm more interested in 'street' type photography, mainly in close-ish range - nothing zoomy!
So I'm wondering if I have got the right camera, it certainly looks and feels very modern and a massive step up from the 400D, but am I going to be left wishing I'd gone for a 5DII?
:bonk:
Oh, I currently have the 24-105L and 50mm 1.4.
Thanks in advance
