60 RAW burst?!
That's over 7 seconds continuous at 8fps... I don't think the 1D4 can manage even 40 in a burst @ 10fps.
yep, got to 61 then hesitated - full res RAW
(lens cap on make any difference?)
My camera shoots quicker with the lens off, so if yours shoots slower then maybe it's giving the card longer to buffer/clear the files.
Also, are you doing it on high or low speed continuous?
I can only assume you're doing something different or wrong - haha.
I've downloaded it and apart from the fps increase, it does the cooking, hoovering, and makes me more attractive to women.
OK I lied about the hoovering![]()

Thanks guys, forgot all about this. Now updated, no smoke from inside camera or blank screen syndrome :hug2:
Always an omg moment when the screen goes blank when it reboots![]()
not had a look at the in cam editing as yet has anyone else, and does it save the settings and if so does it have a sidecar fileCyprino said:Daft question potentially, if I do the update with 75% battery am I running a big risk by not having it fully charged, as per instructions? I'm impatient and don't want to wait to charge it to 100%![]()
Nope, it no likey! Got the dreaded error message - "Update file error. Please check the memory card and reload the battery and try again."
Going to use a different memory card once the battery's charged... Camera still appears to work for the time being though! I haven't got a £1,000 brick on my desk![]()
This 7D Version 2 FW update makes you wonder if any other recent Canon cameras have the potential for an upgrade on this scale or is there just something special about the 7D.
No joy with a fully charged battery and 2 different (formatted!) memory cards, so it's now doing it via EOS utility connected to the mac... 81% and counting, seems ok so far!
I would have hoped they could have put intervalometer capabilities on as well![]()
All sorted, a sigh of relief has been sighed
I'm looking forward to trying out the video audio level adjustments!
My other gripes are that GPS and Wifi accessories are HUGE an expensive clumps for DSLR while pocketable compacts squeeze them into existing designs (not to mention eye-fi).
I would of thought it quite easy in this age of miniaturisation that they could manufacture a battery grip that could accept a GPS and/or WiFi "Plug-In" modules.
Canon make WFT-E5B Wireless Transmitter and GPS Bluetooth but £499http://SPAM/c6fvtb9
I meant a standard battery grip that apart from taking 2 batteries would also accept Mini Plug-In Modules for GPS and/or WiFi.

Could only update firmware on my 7D from EOS utility. Try as i might the camera would not recognise the updated firmware file on various cf cards. Downloaded update various times from US site and UK site but didn't work. And i did format the cards in camera and made sure it was in the 1st folder on card
Just letting people know in-case they have the same problem.
