If I get a 1Dx then I might also be in the market for a 400 f2.8 prime for sports and some aviation shooting. There seem to be quite a few variations of this lens going back a few years. I'm not sure which would be best.
No way can I afford a 400mm f2.9 IS mkII so don't tempt me!
Budget would be somewhere around £4000 so I would be looking at getting a used example. They seem pretty rare though.
I have been reading up on the f2.8 non-IS mkII and the ISmkI. Is the IS worth the extra cash over the other?
Aperture have a couple and I might be going to London next week. Are the prices any good given the ware? I'm not overly bothered about some cosmetic marks.

The non IS is £600 cheaper and better condition but I'm not sure which is best.
