Daily 365 Photos 2013.

Thanks everyone!! :D Sarah, my part of Edinburgh dodged the snow today :D :D

Can I ask what day everyone that started on January 1st is on? I've just read Sarah say she's on day 78.. but my fb album puts me at day 77 today. I have taken a shot every day, I wonder if I haven't uploaded one a day? Must check my flickr set...

Flickr puts me at day 79 today

A date calculator puts me at day 78  Now I must go through and see where I started going wrong... :bonk:

Yeah, looks like it is day 78! So I've missed uploading a couple to fb and uploaded a random one to flickr

I've just uploaded day 78 to Flickr for 19 March - so I think I'm good :D

! At least you've realised! Now the long task of working out what ones!

I figured it out :D :D

Well what to say Toni, you've yet again demonstrated and immense commitment and posted a really consistent level of stunning photos

Thank you very much Matt!

Now... day 78(!)

And 79.

Plus some extras from today (well, yesterday)!

Nice wee catch up she is a little honey :) How exciting "New Camera" :D

Thanks guys! My niece rarely smiles haha she's a melancholy little thing... like me!

Today.. first photos from the 5D :) These were taken before I'd even had a chance to play, nevermind read the manual and it's set up very very differently to my 500D! Little did I know it was in large JPEG and not RAW.. so these probably could have been better had I had raw files to work with!

My mum and I went to a photography studio for some portraits done... whilst waiting for some potentially bad news, getting lasting moments together is top of our minds. We're just hoping they can either do payment plans on products or that they hold files on... file

Did you not read my comment at the start?!

So far, it's going good! But once I've read the manual, know what everything does and how to change it to do that... I reckon I'll love it ;) it's set up SO differently to my 500D and I keep forgetting there's no live view. I don't know why that makes a difference; I literally never use it on my 500D!

Trying to catch up on what seems like weeks worth of stuff, particularly like 75 and 79 Toni, but as usual all your stuff is excellent. Enjoy the new camera too!

Thanks guys! Jeff, literally everyone says that but neither of us can see it at all!

My 5D is out of action... Cats knocked over my mum's cup of tea... all over the camera! The camera itself is fine but the only lens I have for it currently looks to have tea on the inside of it :shake:

edit: put front and back caps on the 50mm and sat it on top of the radiator.. seems to have dried it out!

Eilidh is just so cute and I am always amazed by those big eyes of hers - this is a lovely set and I really like them all, but next time move big people out of the background!

I can definitely see the resemblance between you and your Mum as well - I prefer the one with her in colour, but that's just personal preference.

And, for goodness sake, girl, the first time you use the 5D and you do that to it!!:lol: Hope the radiator has done the trick OK!

I like the photo of you as well - nice eye makeup today! :D

Thank you Sam :D These were just "grab and runs" haha! She doesn't much like the camera so I had to take what I could get

I prefer the colour version of my mum's photo too :D

I think it has done the trick! No more haze in photos (unless added in PP  ) at least! That 50mm has been through so much crap haha...

I tried picking the label off.. didn't work.. so got rid of the writing on it instead. Not quite skilled enough to remove the label on a clear bottle in PP :shake:

toni... please take it as a compliment, but your selfie so reminds me of Daryl Hannah when she starred in Bladerunner...

Haha! Daryl Hannah any time is a compliment ;)

In non-related "news", apparently I'm a very strange photographer because I very very very rarely crop my photos. Is it really that weird to compose 99% of shots in camera?

I mostly do that too - usually only crop to straighten. But, I'm trying to brak myself of the habit now that I have more pixels to play with in the 50d compared to the 400d :)

I do like todays, and I'm really not sure how you'd remove the label in PP - very tricky as it's such a big label.

compose in camera...this is crazy talk... ... hadn't you heard.. cropping is vogue this year..as it is every year.... or am i thinking of fez's??

i rarely crop mine.. unless its intentional to letterbox the action like they do in the movies

Nice one Toni lovely tone! Labels are a pain!!

I love the daffodil and the BG colour is lovely with it! :)

I know no-one in this convo seems to like cropping, but I have to be honest, I'd have chopped that label off the bottom!:whistling:

Thanks everyone! :D

Sam, I'm not against cropping! I just tend to compose in camera the vast majority of the time and I've realised that what almost everyone else finds really distracting in a photo, I don't! This photo is cropped though :p it was taken on the 5D with the 50mm and no way would I have been able to get this close and still focus.

I did think about, and try, cropping the label out but the amount of bottle showing after that looked really odd. Just.. not right?
