Daily 365 Photos 2013.

Catching up with your thread Toni, and some cracking shots with the x10.....you've certainly nailed the processing with it too

Actually I think tht havng the focus on her nose works really well here. The DOF is not so great that her eyes are completely out of focus - glad tht you cloned the head out behind her :D

Yeah, it's not terrible! I had an image where her eyes were pin sharp but it just wasn't as strong a photo nor was her pose as nice as it was in this one so I cut my losses

Hi Toni. I dont know how I have gotten so far behind with your thread. Great photograpy as usual especially the portraits. Stick with the x10, im sure you will get the hang of it.
Sorry to hear about your mum, hopefully all will be ok. Our family wentnthrough something likenthis a few years back, I know how tough it can be on everyone. X

Thanks Phil! I seem to be getting the hang of it more as the days go on. Still not as intuitive as the x100 though... and that wasn't all that intuitive itself!

Love the boxer shot, but something about the middle shot of the processing makes me like it the most, think it's the lovely conker brown shiny coat that does it. Although I like the muted background of the end result.

Thanks! I really liked the middle too but decided against keeping it that way. Maybe next time! :D

Awww he is gorgeous Toni!!

Thanks :D

I love the sweets shot and the portaits once again are fantastic!
The dog is also a nice shot!

Thanks Jake!

Thank you! I've been trying new ways of processing recently so it's nice to know it's working :)

I like it - a good linear line taking us right to the far end with those cars providing a boundary right the way along. I don't know why you would call it a filler, other than that it is a little different for you? The light bouncing of the buildings to the right is lovely and the processing gives it an old fashioned feel again which I love. :)

Thanks very much guys! :D

Sam, yeah that's pretty much it! It does nothing whatsoever for me :shake:

I rather like it actually apart from the placement of your watermark :gag: Move it!!!!

Haha! This photo is the first time I actually had to stop and think for a while about that... I don't like it either!

For a filler shot its lovely!..... Great lines and lovely processing! Excellent Toni

OMG, Toni, so many great shots, so not going to comment on each, but what a great set you have put up!!

Actually, I'd LOVE to say something about each of them as there is something great in each - love the one of Elidh Grace twisting on the floor - unusual angle and pose and works so well, also the one of her looking to the side and slamming her hand on the kiddie table - what a great expression she has there and amazingly caught. Ben looks so happy and into his toy and the one where he is holding it with that great DOF is really nice as well.

Bailie - a classic. Love this.

Uniform - very much the type of thing I like to take from time to time, simple, well composed and interesting (yours, not necessarily my efforts! :D)

Lily Triptych. Love it. Great focus, angles, flow across the 3 shots. Brilliant!

Ah thank you very much Sam! These were all taken with the x10 :D And I haven't touched the eyes not even a tiny bit this time haha!

I seem to be getting to grips with it! And learning to shoot jpeg again haha.. I much prefer the cameras jpegs against its raw so it's definitely affirming the "get it right in camera" approach :D The lily triptych is SOOC :) (well, the 3 separate photos are!)

Super set of beautiful children

Just love the eye that Bailie is giving you. I think I like the mono of Eilidh best - so natural looking and the light is gorgeous.

Awwww Toni now they are some cute shots... she is so sweet...and it looks like it's now going well with the x10 woohoo!!!

Thank you! Bailie was a nightmare, hence the clipped nose haha! She'd sit when I asked her to... but only pressed right up against my legs  then when I got her to sit away from me, she'd run to me as I lifted the camera. When told to "stay", she'd roll over on her back

I think the logs do it for me yesterday! :)

Thanks Jake :D

Thank you T! We're getting there with the x10

Simple today!

Works for me too - am coveting your UPVC double glazed windows - don't have them here and it's freezing

Thanks guys!! :D

Sarah, there's a breeze coming from that window :shake: We spent not the winter we're just coming out of but the one before with no double glazing and no heating. Brr!

All my windows have breezes and we have stone floors :(

Your last couple of days are lovely Toni, particularly yesterday. Like the comparison on your processing styles.

Nice to see things still progressing well Toni, and very interesting to see some of the before, during and end photo's  I think on some of them the processing has gone a little too far, but still a nice effect overall

And, I'd say that was a good choice :) Lovely portrait of you and your mum - it's so much easier with a tripod and a helper isn't it  Makes focussing a doddle ;)

Ahh thanks guys! I prefer the black and white but I love the colours and tones in the colour! My head is a composite

Mono for me too Toni, nice portrait of the 2 of you.

I'm on the fence with these 2... i adore mono but i really like the colour one too!... both beautiful Toni!

Thank you everyone!!

My mum brought these flowers round yesterday when she dropped off my presents. It's my birthday on Sunday but she flew out to Northern Ireland today to visit my sister and her family. I'll be spending my birthday alone; Colin's at work! But it's okay (:
