3 penalty points = ** HUGE** insurance hike.

I've found that sometimes (my wife's last renewal as an example) that the quoted renewal price can be higher than that from a compare website!

Yep, that happened to me with Post Office insurance last time round. The renewal price was summat like £520 whereas it was coming in at £380 on confused.com. I phoned up the Post Office, and basically got told that price was for new customers, and they wouldn't match it, even though my details were correct.

I am now with HSBC....:D

Seriouly switch your insurance I have 6 points and my insurance company couldn't care less :D

We definitely are going to switch, and not just on price, my wife was not too pleased with their attitude when she first rang up, customer service comes high on our agenda!.

Hows this for an attempted insurance shafting?

Tesco compare: Used them (knowing they added some sort of comission), and got the quotes through. So hows this? Quinn direct (who I'm with until April 4th) quoted me 450 for my renewal and an upgrade to fully comp. Teco's result for Quinn, on identical cover? £1160. Hmmm....all together now! comparetheripoff.com

Quinn Direct are Baron-Robbers of the first order...I used them for one year when I was uber-skint as their quote was about £150 lower than Churchill's... never again...
Took me a year to get a copy of the Proof of No-Claims off them for the new insurance company, plus I hear it's very difficult to get them to pay out...
