I see a two for one coming, I'd forgotten about TP day! Shame on me, shame!

Not an obviously easy one, but one with loads of potential for some interesting and 'out of the box' photographs.

Anyway, you gotta admit, it's been quite easy so far :whistling:

Cheers all.

Says the man responsible for this particular gem :whistling:
I have to admit that I'm looking forward to what you all come up with though - I haven't got a clue what I'd do with this one.

Oh dear, I was four weeks behind and now five! It gets quite daunting when behind (although I do have at least some of the "behind" shots)...

Hmm, now had you thought of quitting and was leaving behind some sort of revenge? ;)
I was thinking something similar

It is a pain mate yes :(

On a good not for me, the spreadsheet is now up to date, I have Beginning and TP photo being edited so not far off now... apart from 24 posts of images to comment on :bang:

Well done all those hanging on in there... not far from the end now :D

Hi DK.......sorry to be a pain but I need a tick in the 'Step' box :-)

So, what have a learned during my journey through the 52 so far?
Well, quite a lot so it has been well worthwhile. In no particular order..........

1. Although i like seeing good macro images it really isn't my bag in terms of taking them. I even purchased a 90mm macro lens and subsequently sold it due to that particular genre of photography not appealing to me. I would never have found this out had it not been for the 52.

2. I enjoy taking images of "things". When i say things i mean things that i see. I don't particularly enjoy fabricating images or attempting to make images look good out of general household items to fit a particular theme. Some people enjoy that particular challenge but for me i would rather be out and about trying to capture something "real" or as it "happens"

3. I have been doing sports stuff for the last 2 years and discovered that practice, practice and more practice is absolutely key to taking better images. Now i am at a level where i consider my sports stuff to be "actually quite good" and have several different clubs ringing up / making contact to take shots for them. However, the more i have been doing it the more disinterested i become. The 52 has awoken my thirst for different types of photography and now i find myself more interested in animals, buildings, sunrises etc. Big :clap: for the 52 challenge

4. Ive discovered that light is all important. I can take lots of shots of scenics / landscapes with lots of greenery but, unless there is great light the resultant images look bland and crap.

5. Ive discovered i have difficulty and become increasingly frustrated with bloody white skies surrounding a beautiful cathedral. I think my next step is to expose for the cathedral and also the sky and attempt to merge the exposures.

6. To date i still can't master the necessary lighting set up to photograph an image with a black background. There have been some marvellous contributions from the members that one day i would love to emulate.

7. I have discovered that "family / people" type photographs with expressions give me great viewing pleasure.

8. The composition of an image really does make a difference. The cropping of a foot off one of my images really really peed me off. Composition can either make a decent image really good or completely destroy an image which had good potential.

9. I am crap at PP :lol::lol:

A big thanks to everyone on this challenge who has helped me with my journey of discovery. Next step is to learn how to PP properly.

Thanks all.

Same discoveries here.

I bought a Light tent and intended to construct photos to fit the themes, only used it once and the photo was later re-shot during a reshoot week.

Lighting is most also very important, it really sets the mood for a photo.

Composition seems to be the first thing people comment on, and it is the key in photography. So doing this challenge has given many opertunities to improve my techniques.

My PP is also crap,. Because I sit and code for day job, photography is a way of getting me outside. I shoot RAW+JPG use JPG quite a lot.

Big thanks from me also! :D

Well done Alan... good to have a think - seems more an end of project summation... still 1/3 of the year to go though...

Now, is it my imagination or has it suddenly gone very quiet round here since this weeks theme was pulled out the hat??

This whimsical one has really been bringing the best out in people. All I seem to be tying is "I love it and I'm jealous I didn't think of it."

I might just start CtrlC/CtrlV-ing it.

That was the main reason I :whistling: suggested the theme. Sometime we all need a real push to bring out the best in us. Now I'm not suggesting such themes every week because it can be quite draining working on such themes, but there may be a few similarly hard ones to come yet :D
