2013 Photo52 Challenge : WEEK 52 Water

OK - So here's a hoot for you. I've just committed to the Idiot behind the lens challenge organised by Yv

Anyway - I've just ordered an "ILFORD XP2 400 35mm 27exp B&W DISPOSABLE SINGLE USE CAMERA" from ebay and it should arrive early next week.

Gonna try and get my '52 shot with it either next week or the week after....

Come on - who else?

PS. I bet the next two themes will be "rainbow" and "living colour"

Hmmmmmmmm

The camera I ordered shoots B&W film that can be processed at any colour film lab and printed on colour paper, so I can get them developed and put on a disc at my local high street chemist...

Come on Dean... I DARE you. :naughty:

And after catching up I'm behind again, still here hanging on and determined to finish :)

I ordered mine today. Obviously a property Black & White that's not easily developed :bonk: but it's an excuse to get the films from my wedding (nine years ago) developed

I was going to say, the film processing shops also do scans, although generally they are expensive. Photo Express in Hull do develop and scan ("medium" res, 2000 dpi off the film, as oppsed to "low res" at 1200 dpi) for £5, but they only do C41, so that's no use to you. There's a sticky in the F&C section on processing (see http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=341566), which points to a handy spreadsheet calculator (see https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApD_hzAmA-budE4xbjYwc0cyYkNpa0wtMjR1cXJXclE#gid=1) that should give you some idea of the options...

I'm struggling to keep up as it is mate... when is it ???

It's starts on the 10th (tomorrow) and continues to the 24th of August.

The main thread is here: the Idiot behind the lens challenge

No pressure... I know you do a lot for the '52.

I did it last year and enjoyed it, I think :D. My main concern was the lack of comments left when members posted their photographs, me included, I guess.

Well, caught up on comments, and some crackers in there

Saturday tomorrow, time for a hard one me thinks :rules:

:exit:

..................... My main concern was the lack of comments left when members posted their photographs, me included, I guess.

I have found that any odd shots that I post as other threads in other sections get scant comments. Recently I posted some butterfly/moth shots and altho I got over 150 views, only one person commented.

That seems the main difference to me with the 52's - those who commit to the challenge do take the time to look at others and comment, some brief, some longer - either way over the course of a year it's useful and makes one feel part of a like minded community -- and so a general thank you to those who have given comments on mine and , in my view, over the 18 months so far, have helped the way that I think of and take photos

I agree totally mate, and feel the last 18 months have changed the way I look at potential images and the comments received have certainly improved my photo's - well I think so (before Andy says anything :P)

I've been meaning to ask... I'm assuming that the same set of themes is "in the bag" for each year. Is the number of themes >> 52? I guess I'm asking how likely it is we'll see most of these themes next year...

Thats not the case Chris, towards the end of last year, Sarah had a thread requesting new themes for the bag.

A number of us suggested themes which were included in the bag, so there isn't a set number of 52.

I am obviously not sure how many themes there are in the bag, there way well be enough to take us through next year.

I am sure Sarah wouldn't mind a few more if you have any suggestions

Sorry - been working away for a few days and only able to log on through a crappy VPN link.
But yes, once a theme's been pulled it doesn't get put back into the bag (unless I have a silly moment).
There are probably about 80 cards still in there, so plenty of new ones for next year, although I can't guarantee that there are no doubles of anything that we've had in previous years. Any suggestions for new themes are always welcome to keep topping it up though.

It wasn't me  :D

BTW. Is 18 steps and 8 mono's correct? Bloomin 'eck - come on peps...:(

The results are in... Steps 19 - Mono 12

I guess people are well busy :)

BUT I think there are 2 or 3 that need moving down ???

Just checked....'cause I was a little bored, and at week 31 for 2011 there were 18 and for 2012 there were 19. Can't check percentages as some have been removed from previous spreadsheet :geek:

Anyway, I'm sure there are some who will catch up

Cheers.

I'm sure there will be some that will pull back the lost time... but they best start soon, there is about 6 that are circa 12 images behind

Me me me! Got my step shots this week. Got them on Flickr just need to post them in my thread. Also got an idea for connection which has come up nicely while I pack. Not tried shooting it though so we'll see.

DK I do think you need to re-order the spreadsheet with those droping behind at the bottom!

I'll do that tomorrow night when I get in from work then :)

I'm still here but away on hols, so will have a couple of weeks to catch up on when I get back and most likely a humongous amount of commenting!
Hope your having a good time Chris, Commenting always tends to lag more than the photo's but we all tend to do our best once we get an image up

I'll update and comment tomorrow, only just finished work emails so buggering off for a kip - Night All !!!!
